So he walked in and I was greeted with a smile waitress. We ordered dark and stormys and she didn't know what they were. The bartender poured them with spiced rum instead of dark rum which is in the name. I ordered the local chicken plate which says it has roasted red peppers and rice and vegetables. I asked for the Chipotle mayo on the side because I can't eat mayonnaise. What I got was some really dry chicken breast and over buttered small pieces of broccoli in over buttered rice with no Peppers to be seen. They then changed our waitress. Our waitress came over to times while my mouth was full and I said no I need help with my hand gestures as she walked away and said good. Finally when I told her that are two different rounds of drinks were poured wrong and my chicken plate was made wrong she said she was so sorry and wanted to fix it all for us. Considering I had already eaten because we hadn't really been checked on and I was starving and are two rounds of Mis made drinks we're mostly gone I could only tell her the problem. Your cocktail waitress doesn't know cocktails, your bartender doesn't know how to make drinks, and your kitchen staff doesn't know how to make food correctly on their own menu. She took the one meal off our check but still charged us full price for all the drinks that were wrong. We tipped her what the meal would have cost us and walked out. I used to come here a lot when I worked across the street selling cars. I've never had a bad experience here before, but this was the worst Food Service and drinks I've ever had in my entire...
Read moreThe food is phenomenal, but that's the only reason I give it 2 stars. The service is absolutely awful. Sure, the bartenders and servers are gorgeous, but that doesn't excuse just not taking care of customers who are paying the same price as everyone else who isn't a 'regular'. They seem to take care of their regulars, which is fine, but flirting and holding conversations with them to the point that you're waiting 15-20 minutes for a drink is just ridiculous. I've got 10 years in the restaurant industry and this place is not worth it unless you're getting food to go. I went in 2 nights in a row (bc of the food) and the bartenders are just pathetic. I feel bad for the bar backs and food runners bc they seem to bust their butts and aren't making near as much as the servers. Save yourself the aggravation and go somewhere where your business is actually...
Read moreI’ve been to Bullpen a few times now. This was probably my third visit, and I come specifically for their Wednesday prime rib special. For just $25.95, you get a massive cut of prime rib, easily 16 oz or more, served with steamed broccoli and a baked potato. For just $2 extra, you can get the potato fully loaded, and it’s absolutely worth it.
The prime rib itself is the real star - perfectly seasoned, juicy, and full of flavor. It’s honestly one of the best deals in town for the quality and portion size.
The atmosphere is what you’d expect from a classic sports bar: casual and unpretentious, with plenty of TVs showing all kinds of games. It’s not fancy, but it’s comfortable and lively.
If you’re craving great prime rib without breaking the bank, I highly recommend checking out Bullpen on a Wednesday night. You won’t be...
