Mai's Nails — Local services in San Diego

I'm new to San Diego and this is the first nail salon I've been to in the area. It was clean and the staff was really friendly. I like that right now during covid it's by appointment only so you dont have to be concerned about it being crowded. My pedicure was amazing. However there was only one person doing nails and it's not that she need a terrible job but I definitely did not get what I wanted. I feel as if she was rushing because there were two other people waiting to get their nails done after me.i did not get the shape or length that I desired. I showed her a reference picture from her website and it was kind of off-putting that they couldn't do something they are displaying as their work. I really think she ruined my toes & extremely rude while she did it!?! Really unfortunate. The only other person in there was a man, either the owner or manager, and he was also not happy or friendly. It was my 3rd manicure I'd had done there. The 1st w nice work & results, the 2nd visit toes looked ok but the service & their attitudes left me feeling a fool. The 3rd visit was my last. All I know is it was not a job well done. I had to ask her to fix a couple of obvious errors & feel that backfired because she clearly didn't want to hear it & became more crabby as but I found Lisa & who brought my happy feet back. I do not get my nails done very often, but I love a pedicure once in a while to hang out with my girls and relax. Never have I been so in love with a place that I really wanted to go back, and I usually just go to somewhere random. However, I think that changed with my pedicure today. All of the staff was really fun and helpful. The lady doing my toes is the first person to not dig or push too deep at any of my cuticles/skin. Then she helped me step out of my comfort zone with color and design. Even with the least expensive pedicure ($25) and basic design ($5), my toes look phenomenal! I've never been so happy leaving a nail salon. The place was clean and not too busy on a weeknight. Can't wait to go back!
