I would hesitate when purchasing refurbished Macbooks from this seller. I purchase a MacBook Pro 2019 six months ago and already had to deal with three major software and hardware issues. When the laptop was delivered, it would not turn on because Quality Macs forgot to reboot and reconfigure the computer, as required during the refurbishing process. As a result, I had to spend several hours on the phone with Quality Macs figuring out how to do the reboot myself. Sometime thereafter, I updated the iOS software on the Macbook, only to discover that I was locked out because Quality Macs had forgotten to remove the remote security lock which was installed on the Macbook by its original owner, and which was turned on by the software update process. Once again, I had to spend several hours on the phone with Quality Macs, figuring out how to manually disable the security lock. Finally, several months ago, my laptop started to deplete battery at an unsustainable rate and randomly shutting off, thereby losing all of the work which I had not saved. When I contacted Quality Macs once more, the representative who I spoke with made a host of excuses as to why it was not Quality Macs' fault, but the result of my installation of the new iOS software on the laptop. Quality Macs also misrepresented the warranty on the laptop, which I had purchased from the company on eBay. The alleged listing stated that Quality Macs was covered by a one year AllState Warranty, and the owner of Quality Macs additionally informed me that the laptop was additionally warrantied by Apple Care. To my disappointment, I discovered that the laptop was not registered with AllState (it was a separate service which I had to add when purchasing the laptop on eBay), and that the Apple Care warranty only applied to the initial owners of the laptop, who had obtained the coverage as part of the owner's corporate...
Read moreI went with Quality Macs because of my INCREDIBLE experience trading in a 27” iMac (for a very generous return!) with their trade-in arm Cash For Your Mac.
Cash For Your Mac offers two options: a cash payout for your Apple device or a store credit to use on their broad inventory of meticulously inspected laptops, desktops, watches, iPads, and iPhones.
The cash payout is slightly lower than the trade-in offer (which makes sense as an incentive to buy from their store). I gladly took the higher offer to trade-in my iMac since I knew I was replacing the desktop with a laptop.
Once I had my offer and shipped my machine to San Diego (without even having to pay for FedEx!), I visited the Quality Macs EBay inventory listings.
The listings are easily searchable and incredibly thorough. I picked out the machine I wanted, sent the listing ID to the team and boom. It was on my desk within a few business days. The simplicity of their process is really remarkable.
But wait - there’s more.
I chose my replacement machine (a 2015 Macbook) without asking the experts. Turns out that the laptop didn’t exactly meet my needs. Because Quality Macs has a 30-Day 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, all I had to do was pick up the phone and chat with Ricky. I explained my conundrum and in mere moments, he had identified a solution - a different laptop that better met my specs while staying within my trade-in offer budget. No up-sell. Good luck finding that anywhere.k
I was almost dreading the trade-in/replacement process (especially because I’d be doing it exclusively online), but wow. If you find yourself in the situation of trading/replacing, there couldn’t possible be a better option.
Even if you’re just looking to buy without trading, Quality Macs only lists nearly flawless devices - I know that from the first machine I mistakenly chose and the replacement.

Read moreI purchased a refurbished 2011 MacBook Pro 17" 2.4 GHz Core i7 1 TB SSD w/16GB RAM Dual GFX running on Sierra OS x 10.12.3 from Quality Macs to replace my 2006 MacBook Pro 17". My 2006 Mac is no longer supported by Apple OS updates and can no longer run certain programs such as Turbotax. The refurbished 2011 Mac arrived in excellent condition and on time. I am quite impressed with its speed and numerous features. Upon its arrival, I backed-up both computers on an external HD. I then migrated the data from my old Mac to the newer one and in the process, made the mistake of "re-naming" the migrating data. Short story: the "re-naming" option installed two user folders on the new Mac which really slowed it down. Apple support advised erasing the hard drive, re-installing the operating system, and remigrating the user data using the "replace" option in lieu of the "re-name" option. In the meantime, I could not get my back-up external HD to work properly. I contacted Quality Mac by e-mail and explained my problem. Shortly thereafter, Matthew Brown contacted me from Quality Macs. I asked if they could send me an external HD with the installation operating system and apps that they used to initially set up the refurbished Mac. Matthew was very courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. He agreed to ship a HD with the installation data. I was able to re-install the Sierra operating system and apps. I then re-migrated the user data from the old Mac using the 'replace" option. Now, the refurbished computer runs exceptionally well, so much quicker than my old one, that I still marvel at it. I highly recommend Quality Macs and Matthew Brown, they are very customer oriented, and there to help you. They will go out of their way to back up their product and help their customer. You cannot go wrong with that...
