Since moving from London to San Diego I've been looking for an Indian restaurant in San Diego to match the taste quality of the top Indian establishments in places like Mayfair. I had to wait until Bhatti Himalayan Grill came to town. With truly great Indian dishes you should be able to pick out the individual spices - cardamom, mustard seed, clove, garam masala, ginger, coriander, saffron - and that's what chef Vali delivers. Then comes the heat level, and whether mild, medium or spicy, the heat should complement the flavors, not overpower it. Yes, you can have very spicy hot food where you can still taste and appreciate the flavors. Again, chef Vali delivers. On our first visit, we started with poppadoms and assorted chutneys, then I had the chicken vindaloo (spicy) and my lady had the chicken tikka masala (mild), and we finished with kheer dessert. Each delivered an assortment of flavor layers building on and complementing each other. Now that I've found Bhatti Himalayan Grill, you should too. There's ample seating inside, and the decor is fresh, modern and spotlessly clean. They have a lunch buffet from 11am-2:30pm which I'll be back to try, and they also serve wine along with bottled craft and Indian beers. If, like me, you've been looking for an amazing Indian restaurant in San Diego, then this is the place. If you've never had Indian, or haven't liked it in the past, please try this...
Read moreWe went for lunch on mother's day. The food was outstanding as was the service!. We all got the 15.$ all you can eat buffet. It was excellent! Best Naan ever! My favorite item on buffet was the veg korma. It was delicious and creamy. Nothing 😑 s overly 🔥 so even children would be ok. They have rice 🍮 for dessert. All 3 of us loved this place and I am telling all my friends to go. Service was outstanding and staff made us feel welcomed. Wonderful that it is priced at 15$. I really appreciate this. They included tomatoe soup but I didn't get it. I was only going to eat one plate as was going to dinner later. I ate 2! I will be trying other items in regular menu as they also look delicious. Thank you for a LOVELY...

We really missed the Indian lunch buffets in San Diego, most of which disappeared during COVID. So glad to have one back!
We had the lunch buffet for $15. The buffet spread included classic Indian curries like tandoori chicken curry, tikka masala, saag paneer, and veggie korma. They serve one naan per person, freshly made and super good. Our favorite curries were the tikka masala and veggie korma.
The place is newly opened, clean, and not too crowded, no wait for a table. The service was great. Our server looked a bit intimidating at first, but they were polite and quick.
5/5 we’ll...
