When I came to Scripps Chiropractic and Functional Medicine I was at the end of my rope. Having been in a bad car accident three years ago I have gone through every kind of doctor and had more tests than I care to remember. Desperate to avoid surgery I took the advice of a coworker and headed to Dr.Tay's chiropractic group. When I first walked in I was immediately surprised at how nice the place was. To me a chiropractor is akin to going into a dreary office laying on a rickety old table all while some old dude snaps my bones in half. The First to greet me was Tara followed by Dr. Tay, Manny, Dr. Lawson and the ravishing Perla.
Dr. Tay took me in and explained everything to me. She was incredibly understanding not just with my back situation but also knowing I could not pay a ton out of pocket. She helped me to the point that I was completely at ease and for the first time in a long time felt a glimmer of hope.
I have now been with Scripps Chiropractic about 6 weeks and I can say without doubt that I made a wise decision to come here. My back feels better, the staff really cares about you, they will fit you in for an appointment if you need it and are willing to work with you to ensure you have the best experience possible.
The other great thing is that Scripps doesn't just offer chiropractic. They are all active and athletic human being and being so have a vast knowledge of health and wellness. They will recommend vitamins, training routines as well as doing massage in house. I genuinely recommend Scripps to anyone that is looking for hope and a...
Read moreAt age 37, I was told I have a neck of a retired football player and I would be paralyzed from the neck down if I didn’t stop doing what I was doing. I was an extreme athlete. I had broken a disc in my cervical spine which was pushing against my spinal cord. During that time, it scared me enough to actually listen and back off my adrenaline seeking habits.
I am now 46 and have a prosthetic disc in my neck. I have two other discs at risk of breaking; they are degenerative, spurred, and bulging. They cause me a significant amount of discomfort and often times interfere with my daily living habits. Regardless, I do what needs to be done to live my life to the fullest and be the best mom I can be for my boys and the best personal trainer for my clients.
In order to be the best me, I need to take great care of myself. Even when I am in pain, I do what I can for exercise. Motion is lotion for those joints. Additionally, I seek the attention and care of Dr. Tay. I give her and her team my complete trust to care for my body. For 15 years now, they have been phenomenal in getting me in when I’m in dire need of relief, whether it be from headaches, to a tweaked shoulder, a popped out rib, or sciatica they fix me so I can get back to it! I feel fortunate to have them help look after me so I can be my children’s Superhero!
Thank you all at Scripps Chiropractic and Functional Medicine!

Read moreI was originally referred to Scripps Chiropractic by a co-worker. I had a rib injury that was causing me a great deal of pain and I was willing to try anything to feel better. I had only been to a Chiropractor once before and it was only a so-so experience so I wasn't confident that this was the answer I was seeking. However, during my intial visit Dr. Lawson asked me some questions, took an x-ray and gave me a physical exam. He gave me an adjustment and, although it was not completely healed, it sure felt a lot better than it had before my appointment. On my next visit he reviewed the x-ray with me and discussed the plan of treatment. One thing that stood out for me was that the treatment had an end and it wasn't just a never ending course of treatment. Over the next couple of weeks I kept my weekly appointments and the pain steadily decreased and it has now been gone for almost a year and this has enabled me to get back into my workout routine and fairly...
