We were into town due to a family emergency; with such a high stress situation, the staff was so friendly, welcoming and even flexible with our checkout date, which was one less thing we had to stress about. It was great to see a laundry facility, a small selection of snacks and a small breakfast provided from 6am - 9:30 am, daily. We had two small issues - the first with the air conditioning. It wouldn't stay running, would kick off with an error code and take hours to randomly work again. The staff provided fans, which helped, but it was still much hotter and humid than we prefer. The second issue was with our upstairs neighbors for the last three days we were there. They were loud and obnoxious. It sounded like they were moving furniture and wrestling for hours on end. We did not complain to the front desk only because every time we got ready to complain it would suddenly go quiet. We were dealing with enough, so we just let it go. We were in an ADA room and it worked great for my partner. The roll-in shower was perfect. Additionally, there was a large desk that made remote work much easier. I was able to set up my monitors and everything I needed and we still had plenty of room so I didn't have to move things around and set things up again the next morning. If we are ever in the area under better circumstances, we will definitely reserve a room.

One star is too many. I remember when this place was better. Seems to have gone down hill. A fine place for people who can’t do any better. 5 roaches in the room in 3 days. 8/8/2022 -8/11/2022. Was sooooo close to leaving the first night. I’m a Marine, I can deal with a roach or 5. Disappointed thoroughly. We veterans deserve so much better.

Only giving it 4 stars since the bedding could have been presented better. It was very wrinkled and the bed upon walking in the room looked like someone had slept in it. Otherwise, customer service is great and breakfast was really good.

It was my first visit to stay at the Miramar Inn, and was pleased to enjoy its accommodations on such short notice. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean and comfortable. An enjoyable stay! Thank you! ||||The continental breakfast offers plenty of choices, and I really liked the mini cinnamon rolls. Seating is somewhat limited, and you may be out of a chair or table if you are by yourself or with a large group. Such was the case on my visit. Nevertheless a short walk back to my room with a table provided ample space to enjoy my breakfast.||||Formerly the US Navy's premier air station where its famed and legendary 'Top Gun' school originated, its life as a US Marine Corps air station has allowed many of the facilities and structures to remain in existence and be put to further use. With the upcoming 'Top Gun Maverick' movie to be released next year, fans and former service members with base access can responsibly and safely view from a distance the many places on base used in the original film. Miramar is ideally located centrally in San Diego, and if your next vacation of reliving those 'Top Gun' glory days are in the near future, the location can't be any better. Instructor Charlie's house is a closer drive or train ride away to Oceanside from Miramar...||||If the reason is not for Top Gun, and for other leave or event purposes, the location still offers plenty of reasonable travel time to any of the major event facilities, tourist spots, and outdoor recreational opportunities located throughout San Diego, and San Diego County. Should your visit be on orders, it is an option worth considering to save the hassle of outside rates, traffic, and time. An express mart with gas station and Starbucks are within walking distance, with the main base Corps Exchange and Commissary a click further.||||Do you have a need? A need for speed? Miramar Inn may have...

I spent several weeks at this hotel. The first week went fine. Nice facilities, clean, quiet. However, at the start of the second week of my stay a large group of Marines arrived from all over the USA to complete several weeks of 'training'. I have no idea what their days consisted of but their nights consisted of partying. Non stop and very loudly. Located between the two lodging buildings is a gathering area of sorts with outdoor furniture and an outdoor grill. EVERY night like clockwork between 1 am and 2 am a large, loud, group of marines would take over the area and start grilling food. Yes, you read that correctly grilling out at 1 am. It usually took TWO phone calls to the front desk to get them to disperse but by that time, everyone was awake. At the end of my stay I spoke to the manager, Eric, who claimed he had NO idea of an issues with the marines staying there since they arrived. So, either this guy is a liar, OR he is the worst manager ever. I'm leaning towards the latter. In fact, during my stay he was IMPOSSIBLE to find and when you called the desk asking for him, they had NO idea where he was EITHER. In fact, one day I stopped by the desk and called FIVE times between 8 am and 10:30 AM. The front desk clerk kept saying 'He is not here and he has not yet called in to tell us if he is coming in today." Say WHAT? 10:30 AM on a THURSDAY and this guy hasn't shown up to work NOR has he called in to tell his employees if he's even coming in that day? It is absolutely DISGRACEFUL that taxpayer dollars are being spent to pay this man who should be fired...

Comment on the Miramar Inn.||||September 23, 2017||||My spouse and I were in between homes and needed a place to stay for 13 nights. Having never stayed at the Miramar Inn previously we decided to give it a try. The experience was so far above our expectations that I must give a “shout out”.||||My spouse and I are in our late 60s so we have a lot of experience with hotel hospitality. With 23 Navy moves behind us, we owned our own restaurant and our adult son is a GM of a large Marriott hotel in the area. Thus, I do believe that we recognize superior hotel hospitality when we see it.||||During our 13 days @ The Miramar Inn we were supremely impressed with the cleanliness, maintenance of the facility but most of all with the staff. The GM, Lisa, could not have been more helpful to us. We had several oddball requests and on every occasion she went way out of her way to assist us. She made us feel like we were “family” and in spite of 100% occupancy of the Inn she consistently took time to help us and was extraordinarily pleasant. The rest of her staff were equally pleasant and efficient....obviously mentored by Lisa. A special “shout out” to our housekeeper, Pearl....a more pleasant lady you will not find. Kind beyond description.||||Will we be back? Darn right. Can’t wait.||||Lisa and her crew are a credit to MCAS and we commend she and her staff. You made our nearly 2 week stay so very, very enjoyable.||||Tom &...
