So I stop by Juan Bertos on my way home tonight. I go through my normal routine whenever I eat at a Mexican Food Restaurant. Whether I've been there before or not I order a Machaca Burrito. And basically that's how I base my whole little review of the restaurant is if my Machaca Burrito performs appropriately for me. By this I mean when does my burrito begin to leak out and if so how much? Out of every Mexican Food Restaurant in San Diego County that I have eaten at, and there have been many although now I will be documenting these visits, not one have I been able to eat my Machaca over my lap in the truck while driving without inevitability getting a lapful of safety fluid. Don't get me wrong though. After like the first time of the Machaca leaking all over my lap, now I just park after the drive thru and hop out and stand to eat. It's okay cause I was in the Marines and those burritos are gone in like, I don't know 7 or 8 bites. In all of my Machaca Burrito travels I have had a myriad of wetness levels. From a few drops total to like "Where in the hell did all this juice come from?" a few ouces total. So anyways, my Machaca Burrito tonite at Juan Bertos almost right away began to leak and probably lost a few tablespoonfuls until I finished it in like 2.5 minutes. Obviously that's okay cause I stayed at the restaurant to eat it at a table. Also I would include that it tasted above average. I would say Juan Bertos gets an 8 out of 10 Chris Machaca Burrito Score. Thank you again...
Read moreI am sorry, I have never ever posted a bad review, but this one I have to; I am a friggin' Mexican, born and raised in Mexico with 35 years in the USA (and proud to be a U.S. citizen I may add). This was the worst most expensive burrito I have ever had $10 for a burrito the size of my fist? (ok maybe fist and a half if that), I should've known when the price of a regular cup of horchata is $3.50 !!! aahhh and $4.50 for the large, what is a gallon of horchata?? for rice friggin water !! it is white rice, sugar and a tad of cinnamon, no, it is not a sophisticated, tropical, exotic drink people is friggin' rice water!! the the taste of the burrito I thought o well I'll just never set a foot in that place, but the taste so much salt I could not honestly eat it, I would get a heart attack right there so much sodium (and I am a salty person), then the flour tortilla, it was still dough, undercooked!! the worst, THE WORST burrito of my life I should've gone to the places I am familiar with just west of there on Miramar rd. Don't believe the reviews, specially from someone named Smith, Johnson or Jones etc. they don't know better I should've known when I heard the accent of the cook, clearly from the south of Mexico where they don't know flour tortillas, nor burritos, which are a staple in the northern states, border states Baja, Sonora, Chihuahua and that's it the rest of Mexico only consumes corn tortillas,...

TERRIBLE FOOD A & SERVICE. Poor excuse for "mexican" food. I think I enjoyed the frozen roll tacos they sell at the grocery store than that old reheated food. So no Im not...
