The Worst Hotel Experience – Stay Away! We had the worst experience staying at this hotel, especially considering its price category. Beware! I arrived with my two kids for a sports competition after evacuating from the fires in Los Angeles. They placed us on the first floor, right next to the breakfast area. As soon as we opened the room, we saw cockroaches and centipedes crawling on the floor. We immediately requested another room and were moved to the second floor. The first night passed, and we completed the first day of competitions. In the evening, after the kids had fallen asleep, I walked out of the bathroom and saw a mouse jump out of the trash can! It was horrifying—11:30 PM. What were we supposed to do? Stay in a room knowing there was a mouse running around? Wake up the kids, who needed to be well-rested for the next competitive day? We called the front desk, and they said they couldn’t do anything except offer another room again. We considered moving to a third room for the night and packing everything in the morning. But the thought of the mouse running around our belongings was unbearable. So, at midnight, we packed all our bags and switched rooms once again. The next morning, we went for breakfast at 9:30 AM (which was supposed to be available until 10 AM), only to find nothing left. When we asked if they had at least the bagels they had earlier, they simply said, “There are none.” To top it off, we requested a late check-out until 3 PM due to a schedule change in our competition. The hotel was completely empty, yet they refused and only allowed a 1 PM check-out for an extra $25. Given the multiple issues we faced in just two days, they could have at least accommodated us as a courtesy. I didn’t want to bring up the mouse incident just to negotiate a late check-out, but their lack of flexibility was frustrating. I paid the $25, checked out at 1 PM, but I will NEVER stay here again. Avoid this hotel if you want to sleep peacefully at night and actually have breakfast—even if you come on time. Additionally, I noticed: • Expired food issues • No ventilation in the bathrooms (so you can expect mold) • A dirty pool • No elevators I hope my review helps someone save their money and sanity. I add the photo of mouse’s poop around the refrigerator. Wish you never meet it again.

The worst hotel experience ever! There was a mistake in the booking of our room that had us checking out a day earlier than expected. We returned to our room at 8:30pm and our cards did not work in the door. We went to the front desk and the person said our reservation was over and someone else was checked into the room. They did not attempt to contact us in any way, no calls, email, or text. Meanwhile we found one of our suitcases abandoned in a hallway. None of the employees on shift knew what had happened and searched around for our belongings. Eventually they found some but not all our items stuffed in garbage bags in a mechanical room. We had to unload the garbage bags and repack our suitcases in the hallway with customers walking around and over our items. It was then that we realized that several of our items were missing that were in the dresser, in the closet and on the desk. The person at the front desk refused to help and look for the missing items. That same night we called corporate customer support, and she said due to the magnitude of the incident she was opening an investigation case, and someone would be contacting us shortly. Three days later after no contact we called corporate again and were told it could take some time to resolve the case but if the hotel’s management didn’t provide a satisfactory resolution corporate would step in and make it right for us. It has now been almost three months since the hotel lost almost $350 worth of our personal belongings. Nobody has reached out to contact us to try to resolve this. We’ve called and talked to five corporate customer service representatives and spent hours on the phone and all they do is put us on hold, call the hotel, and “review options”. At the end corporate customer support said the only option is to try to resolve it directly with the hotel and they can’t do anything to help. We will NEVER stay at one of the Choice Hotels brands of hotels again!

By far one of if not the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Service was okay. The room smelled like straight bleach when walking in, which I guess would be okay if it was actually clean. The comforter had pieces of hair on it, which looked very close to what would be pubes. The mattresses its self felt like cardboard. The blankets and sheets felt like news paper. The bath wouldn’t not fill up, the faucet handle kept falling off. To make it even better, the picture is of a soft part in the ceiling. Went to go get some food, the front desk employee had their shoes and socks off with their feet kicked up. But good luck finding someone working there. Around 4am you could hear who ever was working watching videos at full volume. As we were checking out no one was at the front desk. If you want to save money, okay then stay here but I’m 100% sure you could find somewhere way better for the same amount or maybe even a little more.

This hotel was truly a disappointment. It deserves ZERO STARS. Me and my spouse came in town for a quick visit a few days ago for a family wedding and at that time this hotel was one of the only ones available. I looked at reviews and seen there were a lot of decent reviews so we booked a room for 2 nights. We experienced some travel delays en rote the day of our arrival. The hotel was notified ahead of time as a courtesy about our travel delay while we were en route and we were told by reservations that if we arrived later than expected there would be a percentage off from our reservation due to unforeseen circumstances. That didn't occur AT ALL. We were still billed for a night we were not even there. The parking is very small and tight so don't be surprised if someone damages your vehicle getting in and out of theirs. Second, this is supposed to be a non smoking hotel. I have asthma and when we arrived in our room it smelled of heavy stale smoke. The smell literally gave me a headache and it really started to irritate my lungs terribly. The window was open and people were smoking outside under the window as well. The front desk was told and there were no accommodations made about the smelly room. There were no accommodations made for us AT ALL. The fact that a hotel won't do anything to help people with a medical condition staying on their premises is disturbing. My condition wouldn't have been irritated in the first place if this hotel would've stood by the standards it proclaims. We were told they were fully booked and there was nothing they could do. Hotel staff wouldn't be at the front desk. You would ring the bell on the desk and no one would show up. We stayed and endured because there was no other hotels with space available. Not even the one across the street. If we knew the one across from it was available, we would've stayed there in the first place. Apparently there was some school tournament in the area. The bathroom sink was stopped up and while using the shower the water would go stone cold out of nowhere. There is ZERO ventilation in the bathroom. No elevators AT ALL, only stairs. Plus the stairs were slanted so it felt like you were going to fall off of them going up or down. This truly does not help people with health issues and disabilities. Never in my life have I ever stayed in a hotel and heard guests walking around in their room overhead. Guess what? We heard every footstep overhead and could barely sleep. There were dead bugs along the baseboards in the hallway which was unbelievable. I went to the Walmart in the area and literally used a whole canister of Clorox wipes to simply sanitize everything. We checked out early. I am disgusted that this place even got my money. This place reeks of unsanitary conditions and it makes me wonder what housekeeping is doing at all. I will NEVER stay in this place again and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone PERIOD. After experiencing this, it also makes me wonder how people are giving this place 4 or 5 stars but I'll digress on that. The messed up part about this is this hotel is right near Miramar Marine Base where our men and women serve our country and may refer their families. A...

DO NOT BOOK HERE! I pre-paid/ booked a reservation to stay here for my first night of vacation & over a month in advance, I even noted in the special requests of the reservation that it would be a late check-in arrival. After traveling all day with my two young children we arrived to the hotel at 9:45pm. There was no front desk staff inside the lobby. There was another customer waiting at the desk that seemed frustrated. When I asked her if she knew where anyone was at she told me that she had already been waiting for her room for over an hour. She said the hotel over booked and there were three other guests waiting that recently left but she was still waiting because she pre-paid the booking. She said there were no more rooms left except the one he was cleaning for her. Her young child was asleep in her vehicle & she waited for her room as the one front desk employee was cleaning her room. The employee came back to the desk to grab some room keys, he did not even acknowledge me standing in front of him at the desk, with my two young children. He left again down the stairs behind the front desk without saying anything. I decided to wait since I also pre-paid my room. I began calling other hotels around and everything was sold out except a Holiday Inn with only three rooms left for walk ins. I waited until 11:00pm (1 hr 15 min) and the front desk agent never came back to the front desk. The lady that was waiting for over 2 hours for her room was searching around even trying to find him, he had told her 10 mins and never came back over an 1.15 time passed. My children were falling asleep in the lobby at this point. I left to the Holiday in and had to pay $200 for one night but at this point I needed to put them to sleep & was waiting for no room for us. I went back in the morning & when I walked in there was a female front desk agent on the phone telling a guest how sorry she was & that they were over booked on rooms last night. I spoke with her about what happened & she was very friendly but when she phoned her boss, the franchise owner, he said he is not paying the difference for what I was forced to pay for a room at the Holiday Inn. The agent was even embarrassed that her boss would not refund the difference to me for what they did. I am still trying to get my money back............spare yourself, do...
