It is so overwhelming to decide where to eat and what to eat when you're in downtown San Diego. Needless to say, I try to go on at least one Secret Food Tour whenever I'm traveling. Richard was our guide and he's a gem with great stories - both personal and relevant fun facts about the places we went to. San Diego has a rich history and the food is phenomenal. I love how culturally diverse the cuisine is and this tour did not disappoint in ensuring that we sampled a bit of everything!! If you're on the fence about going, don't hesitate and book now, I promise that you won't be disappointed and if you're lucky, you will have Richard as your trusty guide! Thanks for a great day, Richard!

We had an amazing time on our San Diego secret food tour. Richard our tour guide created an awesome experience for my wife and I with his friendly personality and knowledge of the local food scene. He shared historical points and personal experiences that really made the tour memorable. We definitely recommend it to anyone looking to do something fun and interesting. Highly recommend this tour. I want to give a shout out to Riohn, our tour guide. He was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. He was very personable and easy to converse with. He shared history facts with my husband and I about the Gaslamp area as we walked to various restaurants. He took the time to ask about our food interests and share types of restaurants in the Gaslamp District. Our favorite foods on the tour were the fish taco from Taco Centro, the Impossible Burger from The Melt, and the tasty chicken and vegetable Philipino Lumpias (spring rolls). Although we both love burritos, we did not care for the fries as part of the California burrito. We did however enjoy the well-seasoned and flavorful chicken inside the burrito. The Matcha and Coconut iced drink from Tiger Cafe was just the right amount of sweet and refreshing. We ended the tour with dessert from Cali Cream Homemade Ice Cream. We enjoyed the deliciously smooth, rich, and velvety fresh ice-cream. If we could rate Riohn more than 5 stars, we would give a 10! It was an...

Better than Sicily! We had a great time on the San Diego food tour. Riohn was a fantastic guide and the effort that Secret Food Tours puts into selecting the restaurants showed. It was just four of us on this tour, so we had plenty of opportunity to ask whatever questions we wanted. Fish tacos and California burritos are two examples of some of the local flavor showcased. You get a ton of food, and we left not being able to finish all of it.

I wasn't a big fan of the lumpia. While there was nothing wrong with it, it is essentially an eggroll. I understand that some of the tours sample avocado toast instead; I think that is a better pick. Also, if I had to do it again, I would skip the upgraded drinks as there is not quite enough time to fully enjoy them.

That said, this is a great way to sample some of the great food SD has to offer and experience a bit of the...
