UME Nail Lounge — Local services in San Diego

I've been a number of times now to Ume and they are so awesome!! First, the spa itself is so gorgeous, beautifully appointed and very clean (all brand new). The people are so welcoming. I've had multiple nail pros at this point and every time I think oh wow that was the best one...but they are honestly so equally talented. I LOVE that they double team a mani/pedi, so it takes far less time while still being a luxurious pedicure experience. I also love that when I come in and show a pic of how I would love my nails done they are immediately on board and just as excited as I am. They outdo the pics every single time. This is the 4th time in a row that I have come home from Ume and told my husband this was the best mani ever! About 4 months ago I left a 5 star review for Ume Nail lounge. If ZERO was an option, I would leave it today! I will never return or recommend them again. The nail tech was extremely rude and very rough handling my feet. She went to the back room and returned with a gross looking scrub brush and began roughly scrubbing the top of my feet. I asked her to stop because it hurt and the brush had a terrible moldy smell. The brush left scratches on the top of my foot. I would’ve left at this point, but I’d met up with a friend and didn’t want to ruin her time, so I requested a different nail tech, which they agreed to. Anyway, I was really looking forward to a relaxing pedicure…so disappointed. There are plenty of nail salons to choose from and I certainly won’t waste my time or money...

This place is a hidden gem! Don’t let the location behind McDonald’s, this place is awesome. When you first walk in, you’ll notice how clean and cute it is. Then, you’ll probably see the adorable polish display with all sorts of specialty chrome/cat eye options and gems to choose from. But when they handed me the pedicure options, I knew this place was on the next level. My pedicure included CBD, multiple kinds of massage, a heated lavender neck pillow, warm eucalyptus eye mask, hot stones, paraffin, a shoulder massage a mimosa and more.
