If you're looking for Motel 6 level of quality accommodations at a La Quinta price point, this is your place. Recently remodeled but a very bad job, unfinished tile, places missing tile and the outside of the building is hideous, and something you'd expect from a low budget motel. This place is a big zero, WAAAAY over priced and a huge disappointment. We actually felt taken advantage of and ripped-off! I chose to stay here because of the brand reputation and the fact they serve a hot breakfast (but not here)... We arrived to our room that had the main big round light burned out by the bed. I called the front desk to see if they could replace the bulb and was told they didn't have any light bulbs and they could move my room. We had just arrived after driving in overnight, 2000 miles, so not wanting to do one more thing, we stayed in the room & decided to just deal with only the vanity bathroom light as all we wanted to do, was sleep. Our room also had no hand soap left for us, no lotion, no hair dryer, no shampoo or conditioner in the three canisters attached to the shower wall and if that wasn't bad enough, the bedspread was dirty and there was someone else's funky dirty socks left under the front of the bathroom vanity! The next morning going to get coffee we found out theres NO hot breakfast being served, your options are a plastic wrapped danish, oatmeal packet, banana, orange, or waffles or French toast and English muffins that someone has placed in ziplock bags! What kind of La Quinta is this?! As we were leaving, housekeeping was standing outside on the floor above ours loudly chatting with each other cussing and swearing like sailors f-ing this, f-ing that, among other expletives. So unprofessional for this brand hotel. I mentioned all of the problems to whom claimed to be the manager at the front desk and he told me he would speak to his higher ups about this issue and get back to me, which he never did. I've yet to hear back as of me writing this review. One and done for me, I'd never stay here again. The hotel is set up "motel style" so all of the rooms are outside. It's very tacky. The parking lot is cramped as it is, and they had two big metal storage bins taking up some spots and then they had another section coned off so you couldn't park in them. All of the above is unacceptable for this brand of hotel, I would never stay here again, nor would I recommend this location to anyone. Unless of course, you want to overpay for motel 6 style accommodations,...
Read moreThe only reason we booked with this location 30 minutes away from sea world is because we were promised connecting rooms. Kris is who I made reservations with and she said to call the day before to get rooms assigned. I called the night before and the morning of while we were in transit to the hotel and were promised 2 rooms when we checked in they gave us different rooms then what we were assigned. We could of got better quality and way better customer service for cheaper at a motel 6. Staff & manager should not make promises if they can't be kept. We understand requests aren't guaranteed, but if you give a customer your word two different times that you'll have these room #s and joining rooms you probably shouldn't give them away from under us. Staff need to be on the same page about the hotel. Half the staff said joining room exist and half of them said they didn't. When we checked in Arsanlaf said there was a door in between The rooms. When we got upstairs there was NO door. He lied to our face when there was a map right there that said what rooms had a connecting door in the middle. The manager Serika @ the Miramar location was terrible. Very rude and unprofessional. She didn't care how we felt or what we had to say. She was always talking over us and adding her 2 cents. She should really try listening more and talking less. She hung up on my husband mid conversation and avoided his phone calls from then on. The staff who answered said she'd call back in 10 minutes and she never did. She avoided us and our whole situation making it to where we had to call corporate for her to actually deal with us. Still at the end of our stay she was still trying to say it was our fault. When she did try to accommodate and get us connecting rooms she called and left a voicemail saying we basically had to get there by 5pm and get moved into the other rooms so housekeeping could clean the current rooms we were in. Mind you we were on vacation with kids and other family. She expected us to inconvenience our day so she could get the rooms cleaned and not lose out on other business. Who wants to deal with room stress while on vacation? I know I didn't want to. It was so stressful and upsetting to my days. This was by far the worst hotel experience we've ever had. Ivan was the best employee and very sympathetic to our situation and talked to us as if he was the manager....too...
Read moreWe stayed in Room 136. The toilet did not flush properly. When we called the front desk, they told us to search for the plunger. There was no plunger in the bathroom or in the closet. A young man came and delivered a plunger 15 minutes later. We used the plunger and it didn't work. We had to walk from our room up to the lobby to use the restroom. We were told that someone could fix it in the morning. The man that came to fix it in the morning told us that the first floor rooms have low pressure and a slow flush. It wasn't easy for him, but he was able to clear the clog. We just had to hold the handle and wait until all the water flushed down. We also did not use toilet tissue if possible to avoid further issues. We were told the hotel was fully booked and there was no room for us to move to. When we returned about 11:15 pm both of our keys did not work. Two different people were holding individual keys, so the need to walk up to front desk to get new keys was more than just inconvenient as my family was tired, this is absolutely unacceptable. I made the reservation online. But I did my homework and called to find out what was on the breakfast menu. The person on the phone told me that LaQuinta served more than just a continental breakfast. Yours was a step above it and called it a Brightside breakfast with hot dishes, like eggs and some kind of meat, like sausages or bacon. We choose the hotel based on false advertising. This is a costly mistake. Our first breakfast they ran out of food and the lady kept telling us that there would be more in 10 minutes. Half of my party was there at 7, the other half was there at 8. The lady kept telling the same story about food arriving in 10 minutes. Just another example of a business who lies to their guests. Upon check-out the young Indian lady reacted suspiciously when I told her I was checking out of room 136, leading me to think your business knows this is a problematic room and are still renting it out to guests. Trust me that I will continue to pursue these outrageous yet coincidental issues with your corporate office. To say that I am dissatisfied is a huge...
