Came here on a random night on Wednesday with my cousin who had previously tried this place and recommended that I give it a shout. Location is just right off of Rancho Penasquitos/ Poway Rd.Parking was easy. Lots of seating. Nice modern clean spanish style decor. Menu was categorized nicely and easy to follow. Notice prices were kinda steep compared to other taco shops. On this late night there was only 1 cashier (he said he just started working there) and 1 cook on the clock. Ordered a carne asada burrito and while waiting went to go load up on the various selections of salsa. Love a place that gives free grilled onions. There was only a little left at the bar but the cook was able to grill up a fresh batch for us. By the time I got my salsa's ready my number was called. Moderate sized burrito, tortilla used had a nice chalky feel and fresh to the bite (not chewy like how some places i've tried) The first bite of my carne asada burrito was delicious. Meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Had a nice charred flavor. Meat was not dry and not cold. Good amount of guacamole and i liked how they used the right amount of pico. Definitely a place to come try and will put it on my top list for a very good burrito. Ordered a carne asada quesadilla to-go but some how they forgot my order. but that was really good though. Would have been 5 stars but customer service needs work.

We kept saying we should try this place and finally did. The woman who took our order was very nice, and the food came out quick,..too bad it tasted horrible! How do you make a taco shell taste like burnt popcorn? The beans tasted like they come from a can, and I'm pretty sure they use Rice-a-Roni. The place was filthy. It was a Saturday night at dinner time and we were the only people there. Every table and/or chairs was dirty, the floor was sticky throughout, and one table had dirty bowls on it from the time we got there until the time we left...which we regret we didn't leave when we first walked in. Nobody showed up at the drive-through until just before we were leaving, so why couldn't they have cleaned the tables then rather than chit-chatting? I had read the reviews and expected more since their recent reviews were much better. I am now wondering if they wrote those reviews themselves.

Unfortunately their customer service is seriously lacking. I came through drive thru and ordered a beef taco with the advertised side of rice and beans to make it a combo. Should have been $6. Instead they charged me for separate sides of rice and beans, making the total $8. I asked about this, and was met with attitude. They apparently don't know about trying to be diplomatic or trying to please the customer. They claimed they had no copy of the receipt, and insisted impatiently that I produce the receipt. Then the woman asked for the food back (? To make the sides smaller??), and snapped her fingers as she did so. At that point I requested a refund. The other woman came over and asked, "WHY?!" They started talking about me in Spanish, apparently not realizing I speak the language. At the end of this, they handed me my receipt showing the credit, then turned away. They never apologized for their error, my inconvenience, nada. Terrible customer service. They don't have a clue how to...
