For our 10th wedding anniversary, I wanted to create something truly special - simple, refined, delicious, and romantic. When I discovered Chef Hans just around the corner in San Rafael, I knew it was meant to be.

The omakase experience exceeded every expectation. Fourteen courses of exquisite bites, each one a small masterpiece. From perfectly executed tempura to a surprisingly delightful vegan nigiri that caught us completely off guard, every dish told a story. The passion fruit dessert was the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable evening.

What struck me most was the artistry - each plate was so beautifully presented it was almost heartbreaking to disturb. Yet every bite delivered on the visual promise with incredible flavors and textures.

The service was equally exceptional. Every dish arrived with genuine warmth and a smile, making us feel truly welcomed and celebrated. Chef Hans has created something magical here - culinary artistry meets heartfelt hospitality.

We had the absolute pleasure of having Chef Hans cater a special dinner at home to celebrate my dad’s 75th birthday, and it truly couldn’t have been more perfect. From the very start, helping us choose a thoughtful and delicious menu, to the final clean-up, the entire experience was seamless and so impressive. We have quite a few food allergies/preferences, and Chef Hans was so gracious and accommodating in managing them.

Every dish Chef Hans prepared was absolutely delicious; our whole family couldn’t stop talking about how incredible the food was. Beyond the amazing meal, his professionalism and warm presence made the evening feel both elevated and comfortable. And as a final touch, he left our kitchen even cleaner than he found it, which was such an unexpected delight.

We booked Chef Hans for a 15 person New Years Eve party. I contacted him a couple weeks out and everything was super seamless and went great! He was able to accommodate all our guests dietary restrictions while still organizing a delicious menu, brought everything for set-up/cooking/serving with him, and cleaned up afterward. I didn't want to do a formal sit-down diner, so we had a variety of sushi, appetizers, salads, and small plates that guests were able to serve themselves. Presentation was fabulous and everyone is still talking about how amazing the food was! A few favorites were the sushi rolls, chicken satay with delicious peanut sauce, salad with homemade pesto, yummy sliders, and an amazing cod curry that we ate leftovers of for two days! I would definitely book Chef Hans again...
