Cornelia Goldsmith — Local services in San Francisco

[Posting this review on behalf of my wife] I recently had two rings custom made by Cornelia Goldsmith. I was replacing my wedding rings that had been stolen in the middle of last year. My original rings were unique and different, so I wanted my new rings to also follow that idea and design. I looked for other jewelers that did custom work, but I wasn’t as happy with them. We were lucky to find Cornelia at the Kings Mountain Art Show (Kings Mountain, CA), where we were able to see some of the jewelry she creates in person and could instantly see the quality, care and thoughtfulness that she puts into making her jewelry. She clearly has the talent and originality to produce pieces that are exquisite.

I found that working with Cornelia was a delight. She listened to what I was looking for and made the process an easy one. Cornelia made sure that my thoughts and opinions were heard, and she focused on finding a design that reflected my taste and lifestyle. In one ring, Cornelia was able to incorporate a stone from a ring that was a family heirloom, which makes the ring even more meaningful. We loved working with Cornelia, and we LOVE the (custom) ring she made for us! Do not hesitate! The experience and the end product are well worth it.

We were searching for a ring for me that was (as my mother would say) “important”, but not a typical engagement ring or wedding band. We met Cornelia and her husband at the Los Altos Art & Wine fair, and saw her work several times at different, similar venues. We met with her twice to design my ring. The tapered passion ring was the inspiration, but we co-designed something very special and unique. Cornelia selected a gorgeous center stone (most beautiful blue topaz I’ve ever seen). Knowing I didn’t want the stone to be too high, she had it cut more shallowly – which is PERFECT for what I wanted. She also took some small diamonds we had from rings we already had. The ring simultaneously looks like a Cornelia Goldsmith creation, and like it was meant for me and only me.

I was super nervous when we went to pick it up – what if I didn’t like it? My partner tried to assure me (he knew I was anxious). From the moment I saw the ring across the room, though, I was in love with it. Everyone has a similar reaction.

I am so grateful to have found Cornelia Goldsmith! She has been life changing! Cornelia has made me fall in love with the vintage fine jewelry I have owned but never had a chance to wear because they needed adjustments. I used her services for resizing rings, restringing a bracelet, and creating a replica of my engagement ring with a more contemporary style. She did an amazing job with each piece. Through the process I have learned a lot about the materials and the options available, thoroughly building that relationship as my new jewelry designer.
