UPDATE: Management did actually reach out to me and refunded me, so I updated to 4 starts for very good service/management involvement.
TL;DR: $60 for the worst haircut of my life.
This was such a comically bad experience that I am genuinely in shock/laughing as I write this. First, I generally get a pretty simple guy’s haircut style, I am not very picky, and don’t think I’ve ever left a review for anything like this. However, in this case I feel it my civic duty to warn anyone I might reach through this review (and in hindsight if I’d read more reviews I might have been spared, but at the time of writing it was about 4 stars overall which wasn’t a red flag to dig deeper).
My barber was Logan, and she was very nice. I came in with longer than average hair so there was plenty of material to work with. I showed her some pictures of a good cut I’ve had before (part on the left, leave enough hair on the front so that it can be combed over, etc.). I specifically requested that she leave the front a little long so that it would stay combed over. She proceeded to take over an hour (my cuts generally take ~20 minutes) to cut everything way too short, take way too much hair off the front, and seem confused half of the time. Several times she paused and looked at my hair like she had no idea what was going on. She also held her instruments in such a way as to not inspire confidence that she had been cutting hair for very long. At one point she parted my hair to the OPPOSITE side, and trimmed it to be symmetric. I tried to make a friendly comment along the lines of “wow I’ve never had anyone do that before” to which she replied “I though you might say something about that…”. In the end, it looks absolutely nothing like the pictures or description I gave and she had done everything I had asked her not to. There’s a hole between my side and front hair that has never been there before and the sides look almost like a buzz cut. At the end she was combing the front around as if she realized it was a disaster, then just kind of shrugged and took the cape off.
In any case, I know it’s just a haircut and I don’t like calling things out publicly, but in this case for $60 this is absolutely unacceptable. Did anyone bother to check that the barbers who work here can even cut hair? Also, the salon has 8-10 chairs, but only 2 people working (plus the desk person) on a Sunday. Just seems a little sketchy that such a large place would be able to remain open with so...
Read moreEverything has been working just great in the past, It’s been a very hard year for me, I lost my Mother Dec 1st and then my Father took his life March 10th all this year, it has been a very difficult time in my life and much a journey for me. July 15th, I made a call at 9,9:30 and was answered by Matthew, I wanted to see what time my guy was going to be in today and to make an appointment as I come all the way from the East bay, The phone was answered by Matthew explained to me that Fellow Barber has a new website and I could go there and make my appointment and would not need to call in, I explained that I really loved how I just make a call and was able to get in, I have 24 stores that I over see and sometimes it is not possible to go on line, Matthew not only explained it to me 4 times, but 5 times, he was just not understanding or compassionate as to where I was coming from and was not listening to me. He only wanted to make sure that I would goto the website and make my feature appointments, I explained that my life is very hard right now. And expressed to Matthew that should go else where, I asked to speak to the owner and he stated he is on vacation for 2 weeks, I then called and asked for Manager and was told to leave a message for a Manager to call me back and called twice, still no call back, I then called today, and was told if the Manager wants to call me back he will, not very promising. I have never been so saddened by the customer service I have received from Fellow Barber. To the point I've broken down and cried as I finally found the right person to cut my hair, now I must start all over again as this business does not care about the person. I also had to end the call with Matthew as he was not hearing me and wanted to keep me feeling as I had done something wrong. I’m not sure where to go from here, but if this is the customer service I am going to receive, I...
Read moreI honestly just got a really terrible barber cut here. The people were nice and the salon is beautiful but in terms of services given I'm pretty shocked given the cut was $65 ($80+ including tip!!). My barber didn't talk me through what they were doing, they just asked me vaguely what I wanted and didn't check in during the cut at all. I let them know when something looked too long or when the shape looked different from what I wanted and they fixed it but the things that they should know how to do were messed up too. I have short hair and the line between the long hair on the top of your head and the fade to it is so crooked it looks like a chunk has been taken out of it (so much so that people have commented on it), they missed cutting some pieces of my hair (meaning that I have random pieces of hair 2-3in longer than others), and they didn't style the cut at all; they just left it as it was and made it shorter, meaning the style of the cut doesn't fit my head well at all. It truly looks like I cut my hair myself. Really really disappointed; I've gone to shops where I paid half the price for outstanding cuts and am really disappointed about the lack of...
