Team thick noodles or thin noodles? 🍜 When it comes to ramen, I prefer thick and springy noodles. @Taishoken_San_Francisco offers a fantastic Tokusei Tsukemen, featuring cold buckwheat noodles and a rich broth made from pork, chicken, and fish. Tsukemen つけ麺, A.K.A. “Tsuke Soba,” is essentially deconstructed ramen or “dipping noodles.” Taishoken’s noodles are crafted in a controlled environment, left to sit and mature overnight, achieving an ideal texture and flavor balance. 😋 They also have a new seasonal item - the Chicken Tori Paitan! 🐓 The broth is rich, creamy and umami. It’s only available for a limited time, so make sure you try it before it’s gone! ⭐️After enjoying the noodles, be sure to request a free serving of hot dashi-broth for sipping. ⭐️Check out their Happy Hour from open to 6pm every day! 🙋🏻‍♀️Follow @confession.of.a.foodie for more delicious eats! ————————— 📍665 Valencia St, San Francisco, CA 94110 ⏰M-Th 5-9:30pm, F 4-10pm, Sat 12-9:30pm, Sun 12-9pm ☎️(415) 400-5336 . . . . . #bayareafood #bayareaeats #bayareafoodies #japanesecuisine #sfbayarea #sfblogger #sfeats #sffoodblogger #sanfranciscoblogger #foodreels #confessionofafoodie #asianfood #bayareabites #ramen #tsukemen #toripaitan #dippingnoodles #sffoodie #taishoken #tsukesoba #eatersf #japanesefood #sfrestaurants #japanesenoodles #ramenlover #sanfranciscofood #bestfoodsf #topsfrestaurants #sf #noodles

One of the best meals and the best ramen I've had in NYC and SF! Food and service were both 5/5! Must go if you're in SF!!

Amazing ramen. Fantast8c ervice. We came here twice and tried all three ramen; tsukemen (dipping ramen), abura soba, and the tonkotsu. You have to get the tsukemen and abura soba. Nothing like this in NYC. These were super delicious.

The tsukemen has this fragrant "umami" flavor with a hint of yuzu and spiciness. It was definitely fish based but you don't taste the fishiness. It's got this deep boiled for hours texture. The broth was thick but not at all oily. The two types of charsui were phenomenal! Super melt in your mouth. The ajitama (sauna egg) was gooey and eggs and creamy. The thick noodle were savory with the dipping sauce. And finally you can even enjoy the left over suace as broth as they add lighter broth to your dipping sauce.

The abura soba or dry mix soba was another winner. It's thinner sauce that you mix with the soba and it was just as savory as the tsukemen. A bit more on the soy sauce side in terms of flavor but definitely you can the fragrant fish sauce base as well.

The matcha mouse definitely hit the spot. Soft pudding like. Intense matcha flavor but not over powering. Pairs really well with the dollop of ice cream. Really great way to finish the meal.

Service was impeccable. The manager was fantastic! Great...

Taishoken is an exceptional restaurant in every possible way. From the moment we stepped inside, it was evident that the level of attention to detail is about as high as you can get. The ambiance was elegant and tasteful, with a comfortable seating arrangement that made us feel right at home.

When it comes to the food, we were blown away by the quality and flavor of each dish we tried. The calamari was among the best, freshest we've ever had, and we loved the way it was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. However, it was the Takoyaki that really stood out, leaving us speechless with its explosion of flavors and textures that were beyond anything we had ever tasted.

The service at Taishoken was exceptional, bordering on psychic, as they foresaw our needs before we did. From the moment we were seated, our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and provided excellent recommendations. We appreciated the level of attention given to each of our requests, which made us feel like valued guests.

Overall, in a city with endless options, Taishoken is undoubtedly among my top picks. The quality of the food, the attention to detail, and the exceptional service made for an unforgettable dining experience that we will not soon forget. If you're looking for a restaurant that offers exceptional food and service, Taishoken should be at the top...

The Sakegria was mellow and refreshing.. not too strong, neither was the alcohol. Can taste hints of acidity from the orange.

The Chicken Karaage had a crispy batter. The inside was tender and juicy. It was good. I can taste the side of mayo having some sort of curing that you would find in a salted egg yolk.

The Cha Shu Bowl was soft and tender. It was flavorful. The Cha shu did not have ligaments of tendons, I think this dish is better than Marufuku ramens dish. It was okay.

The Spicy Miso Ramens broth was a little on the thick side. The broth was very aromatic, maybe a little too much for my taste. The noodles were thin, but cooked well. The egg was overcooked — the inside was not runny, but not well done either. The cha shu was thick but soft.

The tonkatsu broth was very good. It was more on the thick side, but the flavor was very on point . It was not too overpowering nor too much aromatics. I should have went with the tonkatsu broth.

The stonemill matcha pie was okay. The cream savory and sweet, and was a little rich. The crust did not look appealing at first, but if you eat the pie together with the cream, it is not half bad. The matcha looks...
