Danica serves the Bay Area and I am so glad I found her. I hired her as my makeup artist for our celebration and was so happy with the work that I have already enlisted her services for two other events. Her portfolio focuses on soft and/or natural glam. Danica helped to make suggestions and was patient with me as my brief for my initial consult was open and somewhat vague—I didn’t have a specific look in mind. I just knew I wanted to look like an “enhanced” version of myself. She helped to guide me through my options and we discussed adjustments after my makeup trial once we reviewed her work in natural light.

Some things to know: 1.) Do a trial. Just do it. It removes the stress for everyone leading into a big event. 2.) Have some idea of what you do/don’t like or at least be prepared to have an opinion 3.) Take time to what you care about; for me my big three were: identifying the right foundation color, ensuring my lashes helped to open up my hooded eyes (vs seeing my lashes before me you saw the rest of me) and sculpting my face without creating harsh lines.

There are some things about makeup that I don’t normally think about that makeup artists will ask you. Examples of this will be type of liner you use (soft by using a pencil or something sharper with a liquid), the color of the liner, etc.). You will learn the hardest thing to nail (surprisingly) is lip color.

I have nothing but good things to say about Danica! First thing, she was very easy to communicate with. Which is a bonus while trying to plan a wedding. For my trial, Danica was so patient with me. I had no idea what I wanted, I just knew what few things I did not like. She was able to take what I said and give me the perfect look for my wedding day. She is very sweet and kind. Talks to you through the process of deciding your look for your wedding day. I got so many compliments on my makeup. She was able to make me look/feel myself on my wedding day. My makeup was not too heavy or "cakey" looking. She made my eyesbrows still look natural, which is a big thing for me. She also did make up for 3 of my bridesmaids and my mother in law. She did my makeup for all of my wedding events, and she was on point every time. My look always came out exactly how we talked about, and she gave great suggestions based on my eye and face shape.

I was nervous to find someone I felt comfortable with because you’re makeup artist is all up in your special morning before the wedding and she fit in with my family and my bridesmaids like she had known us forever!

I was also nervous as a plus size bride that I might be judged by some glamorous makeup artist, and while Danica is glamorous she’s the farthest thing from judgey.

She did my mom and mother in laws makeup as well as some of my bridesmaids and everyone looked beautiful, and the more mature ladies were especially happy after being nervous this style of makeup would be heavy on them.
