SF House Painting — Local services in San Francisco

To be fair, these guys are good painters. However, the most unprofessional company we have ever dealt with. First of all, you can't just throw cheap labor at a project and walk away. But they did. A guy named Freddie was the project manager and he showed up once to walk the job at beginning, but I never saw him again. I don't even know why we walked job because he did nothing that we asked. The crew had no trucks and they showed up in old clunker cars with painting supplies on their seats. We had them paint interior and exterior, so job lasted about a month. But Clay did not get a porta potty and the laborers used our facilities, climbed through windows to use outlets and left our place wide open at times so that our neighbor had to call us. They were supposed to repair some roof drainage issues, but on first rain there were leaks in the catch basins they claimed were fine or fixed and the downspout they installed leaked. It should have been obvious to anyone the downspout would leak, but they collected their money and walked. When we called and asked them to fix, they blew it off. However, we were so glad they were gone and never wanted to see them again, so just hired someone else to finish project. If you hire these guys you will be sorry. Take our advice and just pay a little more and have someone professional...

We would highly recommend Clay and his assistant Omar. Over the past 25 years of working with several contractors, painters, plumbers, etc. on our house, we were very satisfied with his work. He went through all the items of our tour for things to be done with a verbal acknowledgement which seemed unusual at first. But 3 days later he sent us an written estimate with every item we discussed in detail at a fraction of the cost the three other older companies gave. And those companies did not include additional costs for any repairs of wood or sheetrock or other construction.

Clay was very flexible with his time, responded to any additional requests with minor additional costs, and was able to work within our schedule to complete the job of full exterior painting, wood siding repair, and some interior painting within 3 weeks of his first visit for the estimate. His assistant Omar was also exceptionally responsive to any feedback and additional refinements we requested, and his team worked diligently through the day without breaks...

Clay was super professional and able to paint my 1 BD / 2 BA SF Mission apartment interior in record time. We did a walk through and aligned on a price and he came just a few days later and completed everything in a day. He even followed up to ask if I liked everything and when I noticed some small spots that needed touching up he went back to do them before declaring the project complete. He definitely went the extra mile even patching up holes and removing some adhesive hooks (which was hard to do!). He is very friendly and professional. He also took patches of paint to match the color so I didn’t even need to get the original paint colors. Everything looks new. The contract was thorough and license # is registered....
