The Pink Triangle Memorial Park is a small memorial park in the Castro. It has succulents, roses, and other flowers. It is wholly maintained by donations and volunteer labor. I didn’t realize how tiny the park was, and wedged between roads. I wouldn’t call it peaceful for that reason, but it’s important to have such memorials. After seeing the park, which takes only a few minutes, you can continue to explore and walk through the gay district.

Pink Triangle Memorial park is dedicated to the LGBT victims persecuted in Fascist Europe between 1933-1945. It is a peaceful, colorful park full of flowers, a series of granite posts topped with pink triangles and a pink triangle on the ground full of rose quartz stones--you are welcome take one as a remembrance. Well worth a 10 minute visit.

Such a beautiful memorial, a very special place and such an amazing idea! The rose quartz triangle is incredible to see, and from what I've heard, they encourage you to take a stone with you so we are all connected and united! Powerful!! My hubby and I donate to the org that funds this place and I hope you can do the same!

What I remember is from 30 some years ago it was an empty. Lot of weeds I was one of the Castro homeless people who knew it as the one place we could sleep away our depression hunger and loneliness .but then there was a story in the bar it was about making it so homeless people wouldn't hang out there and they had a contest for members of the community to come up with a design that's I believe where th idea of the stone pillers and rose bushes came from to keep the homeless out they quickly called it a memorial and that's how it came to be it's sick that the Castro has had an underlying hate for the homeless this whole time and it yet is to be addressed be Shure to mention this to the anti homeless tour folk while cruising the Castro they've been around for 30 years but won't agree with what I say ps I'm...

Beautiful small quaint place to sit while waiting for your lunch/dinner reservations, a salon appointment, or just a folksy site to chill a spell w/some of your local friends, to determine whose throwing this year's Christmas party. Just a little kick back place, very small but convenient for a quick and easy transit (bus, train, trolly) transition. Also great entertainment, due to it being the main center area of Castro, where people watching can be almost as exciting as a thriller flick at a...
