I cannot even give them a star. The person who runs this store is despicable and has zero customer service. I bought a sofa in November and it only got delivered in the middle of January even though I was told it would take one week max because it was in stock. I also would never have received it if I had not called. No one apologized at all. Then the sofa really did not look great so I went back to the store to return it and I said I would be willing to buy something else for the same value. The owner or manager (Hill) said that I would still have to pay a 30% restocking fee plus delivery. I couldn't believe how short sighted he was as I was ready to spend a lot more than just the cost of the sofa as I had to refurnish my whole house. Then he tried to charge me for the amount of the tax on the sofa that I had already paid. The 30 percent restocking fee was on the receipt but the fact that he delivered it months later, didn't concern him at all and he was blatantly rude. The amount was a lot though so I asked him if I could think about it and see if I could live with the couch. All of a sudden, he was friendly and said that was fine and no problem. Exactly two weeks later, I called to say that I would like to return the couch and he informs me that he has a 48 hour no return policy and that it's on the receipt. I reminded him that I had spoken with him and we agreed that I would let him know if I wanted to still return it and now he was going back on everything we discussed. He lied and said that I said I would call the next day. I never said anything of the sort. My friend who went with me to the store was also appalled by his behavior. My husband and I have purchased furniture online or at Living Spaces before, but our experiences usually felt impersonal and lackluster. The furniture pieces also didn't really hold up over some time, so we were looking forward to our experience here at Contempo.
The moment we walked in, Janae was incredibly inviting and instantly touched base with us on what we were looking for in a sectional sofa. We had a pretty specific vision in mind, and Janae guided us to the perfect fit right away. She gave us ample space to test out the sofa's firmness and specs, and we were really grateful for that balance of being not too hovering but also being attuned and checking in with our wants. After some more exploration, we closed out on the sofa purchase that same day and was promised delivery that very weekend.
On delivery day, Kevin called us to confirm the delivery window. We were anticipating how the sofa would come out and look in our living room and once again were even more impressed (if that's even possible!). Kevin and his team were friendly, clean, and efficient, which we really appreciated. The sofa itself was in pristine condition and comfortable. The price was also reasonable and competitive for the fabric type & quality as well. Our family will enjoy this sofa for years to come and I have a pretty good feeling it will stand the test of time. They changed ownership just when I decided to replace my 27 year old bedroom set. We spent 5,000 at the store and felt great with our purchase. Two months ago the swinging door on the dresser fell off nearly hitting my foot. I could not believe it. I called the store right away and they refused to fix it. I was so upset I called back and offered to pay their repairman myself, they NEVER returned my call. My husband returned from out of town and took the door in, all he got was the run around and a promise to fix it which they did not do and didn’t have the common courtesy to call us back. My husband went back and got the broken door. I am at a lost too explain how this store has gone so low! I will never shop there again and I am considering suing them.
