Ok, so, I have only been here 1 time but I plan on going again. I was just looking to get some chicken soup on the way home and this was conveniently located at the time. The outside of this restaurant is an eyesore, however, this is one of those examples where, "you can't judge a book by the cover!" Honestly, I almost drove right by it because I thought the appearance from the outside was tattered and it just did not appeal to me but my intuition was screaming for me to try it and boy am I glad that I did. I was greeted instantly upon entering the restaurant, by a very welcoming, friendly, communicative & efficient gentleman. I think he was the host, the waiter, the cashier and the bus boy; perhaps the owner, even? He was so authenticly nice and helpful that I think that, just his positive energy alone, would have been enough to lure me back again. Nothing about him said that he was just there because he had to be or because he needed to be, etc. He was right where he wanted to be and it was really refreshing to be in the presence of someone like that, even if just for a few minutes. So, if customer service is important to you, I would definitely recommend comming here, just to experience that kind of great, welcoming energy, that is genuine and rare. He also helped me navigate the menue and find what I was looking for, so I placed my order. I was shocked when he asked if I wanted white meat or dark meat and whether or not I wanted the skin to be left on. These are all things that when I try to ask waiters and waitresses about, I am usually met with an eye roll, or I get looked at like I'm crazy or they don't know if they can request that or they don't even know what kind of meat is in the dish that I'm ordering, etc. At this point in my life I had litteraly given up trying to get what I want when ordering out, for the sake of sparing being made to feel like I'm crazy, picky or just a pain in the, "you know what," customer; so I could not have been more pleased to have someone who cared to get my order, exactly as I would want it. Amazing! Lastly, I only waited but a minute for him to bring me out my soup, which was delicious and made out of quality, fresh ingredients, done, exactly as I would have done it myself. Yes, this place, deserves 2 thumbs up and 5 Stars. I actually feel grateful to have found a place like this and I will be comming back for more. I will write a review for round 2, as well. I'm curious if it's always this good? We shall see. Oh and for those of you who are debating whether or not to try this restaurant out, I really hope you give it a try and remember to not let the outside scare you away. I usually get to go order. Do not have much dine in experience. This’s the only place i go for the Steam chicken anytime i come back SJ

We got :

Half chicken 5/5 : Chicken’s really good very tender. Go well with fine blended green onion ginger sauce and some other sauce.

Chicken Giblets 10/5: the best best best ever. As i compare to one of my other fav shop in elk grove city. Giblets is all mixed, well cleaned - prepared. You won’t get any bad smells. All very soft easy to chew.

small side of mix salad 5/5: some cabbage, Vietnamese mint leaves, reg mint.

The price may seem a little bit more than the other place. But you get what you pay for. Very good quality food. Also we all know San Jose is known for expensive high tax spending. So be ready for small chicken portion with around 15 bucks 😆.

This is a place for locals. They need some better service and to clean up the site a bit. The exterior is so beat down you’d think it’s closed. The food was actually good but overpriced for what you get. Host / owner wasn’t very friendly but wasn’t rude either. Didn’t seem happy to have a new customer.

He recommended the grilled chicken, rice and soup. The dark sauce was very tasty. The soup was flavorless. The mini salad didn’t look very good quality so I didn’t even bother. Tea was very good. Jasmine green tea. Overall I would not come back here for any reason.
