We put a lot of care in this review to be as objective and factual as we possibly can. What KZ didn't tell us was:
KZ told us they use hardwood and others do not. But, hardwood that is not properly dried out is worse than particle board because it shrinks and the paint cracks. That is exactly what happened to us. Four months after we installed the cabinets, the paint began to crack around the seams. See the photo. Building cabinets with hardwood which is not dried properly is a no no. We contacted KZ customer service and sent a photo but never received a response from them about the cracked paint.
The soft-close hinges worked great in the showroom. But, they are only good for occasional showroom use. The soft-close functionality stopped working after two months and the doors began to shut hard and bounce. We contacted the KZ customer service. First, they agreed to replace only a few of the hinges. After some discussion, they suggested that we purchase 79 new hinges, replace them (at our cost), and return the old ones. The KZ old hinges were made by DTC. The new hinges are made by SH-ABC. We replaced 79 hinges with the KZ new SH-ABC hinges. A week later, 50% of the new hinges lost their soft-close functionality as well. We called KZ customer service again and they sent their representative to our house to video-record the problem. We also have some cabinets that use Blum soft-close hinges. The Blum hinges are years-old and the soft-close functionality works great. The KZ representative video-recorded both the KZ SH-ABC hinge problems and compared them with the Blum hinges used in other parts of the house. He confirmed there is an issue with the KZ hinges. KZ Customer Service also analyzed the videos, and agreed that KZ hinges have an issue. But, the KZ customer representative stated there is nothing they can do because KZ has a large quantity of those hinges in their inventory and our hinges came with the cabinets and can't be returned or refunded. In other words, the KZ cabinets will ship with bad hinges for a long time, given the large inventory of their DTC and SH-ABC hinges. In short, what you see in the showroom won't last long when it comes to paint on (wet) hardwood, soft-closing hinges, and quality.
The KZ sales representative told us their prices are one-third of Home Depot, Lowes, and Ikea cabinets. They are right. But, what they didn't tell us was that we get much less than one third on the quality of...
Read moreIt is a nightmare purchased kitchen cabinets from KZ Cabinet & Stone Inc. in July 2025. The product did not meet our expectations, especially in terms of quality. The cabinets clearly did not meet normal standards. The cabinets were irregularly shaped. Some appeared to have curved. Cabinet doors were not properly aligned in general. Some pairs had doors at different heights. Other pairs were not level on the outside. Still others were both. Many doors were also not uniformly spaced from the cabinet. This is most noticeable with cabinets with four doors, where the doors were all uneven to the touch and visibly misaligned in height. In total, 6 cabinets were affected. The stone countertops were prone to discoloration. A single drop of coffee could stain the stone, which was poor quality for something that costed $550 per countertop. When the issues were brought up, customer service representative Victor informed that his manager refused to refund the full purchase amount and the installmentfee He even refused to offer us a discount, only required us to find third party to fix the cabinets. This is unacceptable, considering we wanted quality cabinets, not substandard ones that would require repairs later. Why are you shifting the blame onto consumers? Why should we repair your cabinets instead of returning them? Substandard products should not be sold. To cap it off, the cabinets weren't even what we originally ordered. Sales representative Wing called us and convinced us to buy this set instead of what we originally ordered, promising us that this set would be easier to maintain cleanliness, which was not the case. This is an example of false advertisement, and resulted in a specious and potentially fraudulent transaction.

Read moreKZ kitchen more like Crazy kitchen đ Good products - Terrible customer service
The only reason I even gave 1 star is because the products and showroom was good. We originally ordered in the Hayward Kz kitchen and the products and showroom were great. Coustomer service were very helpful and kind. One of the better KZ kitchens.
We came to the San Jose one to take a look at the granite slab they recommended for our island. The customer service in the Hayward KZ kitchen said the San Jose staff would let us see the slab easily. They were wrong. The first time we went they wouldnât let us see the slab as it was too âheavyâ to bring it and they would need a âstrongmanâto bring it. They said it would be too dangerous to bring it. After waiting a lot of time they brought us to a dim part to see it. We couldnât see it correctly so didnât decide then. The next day we came around 15 mins to closing time as we had to come from north Fremont. We knew where to go and went there straight. But when we asked to see it they said literally the exact same thing but also added that they closed. We told them that we already knew where it was and that we still had 15 minutes till closing time. They then repeated what they said and then we spotted them turning off the lights sneakly and then saying âsee the lights have already turned offâ. We decided we didnât want any more of this and left.
It seems like the only sentence they were taught was âcome back tommorowâ. When we went to Japan even if they barely knew english they still were really kind and helpful. Here it is the opposite. They are just out right rude and will try their best to not help you in any way. It seems like the only thing they know is to avoid working at any cost.
Moral: Just go to the...
