Use extreme caution when deciding to use this Jewelry store for ring resizing. I will admit, I have a complicated wedding band with alternating baguette stones around 3/4 of the band and a ruby and engraving on the inside of the band. I knew the resizing would be a situation, so I brought the ring into Mann's Jewelers after seeing all the amazing Google reviews.
The people working were very kind and had someone come from the back to evaluate the resizing. They stated it would be easiest if they were able to remove the ruby and engraving, resize, then put the ruby back in and engrave around it. Easy Peasy.
They were thoughtful prior to engraving and had me come test the size. The sizing was great. I then came back to pick up the ring with stone replaced and new engraving and found that some of the milgrain on my band had been smashed. I told the clerk this and she immediately began making it seem as if i brought it in that way. I informed her I did not and asked if there is a chance the damage was done by a clamp when resizing. She told me they do not use a clamp for resizing. I repeatedly told her I did not bring it in this way and that I take frequent photos of the ring which would prove it (along with the photo taken at drop off) to which she responded "good for you". She repeatedly spoke down to me about the material of my ring and that I had been wearing it already which is what caused it. She finally agreed to keep it and have the jeweler take a look. Since she was going to keep the ring, I also mentioned that the engraving was not centered and asked if that could be redone.
The jeweler was very kind when he called me and stated the damage was done when he used the clamp and that he would work on it. We also discussed the engraving and that it is done using a machine, which is why it can be difficult to get centered. I told him I completely understand and asked if he could just remove it and I would get it redone somewhere that they hand engrave.
I then received a text message that the ring was ready and, to my surprise, that they had gone ahead and engraved it again.
I arrived to pick up my ring and was met with the same person I dropped my ring off with who was very kind. I informed her about my experience with the single clerk who was rude and she apologized profusely. It should be noted, the other two clerks were extremely kind and helpful as well. I reviewed the ring looking for any other concerns and did not find any. I came home and showed my partner who noticed that yes the engraving was centered around the ruby but now the ruby was not centered on the band. I called to inform the person I had just spoken with who sounded agitated over the phone. I tried to explain that the engraving was not the issue and it is the ruby placement and she firmly stated "Mary, listen to me" and continued to discuss the engraving saying they would remove the engraving and just refund me if I came back up there. After being scolded like a child, I reiterated the issue is with the ruby. The warm and excited filled welcome we received when we walked through those doors spoke volumes to their customer service right Away. They had us all take a seat and pulled out their engagement ring builders and those already “built” for us to try on. They answered our questions and even when we were there for about an hour having fun- they continued with exceptional customer service! We never felt rushed once!
I would 100% recommend them not only for their customer service but for their understanding and explanations of diamonds and engagement rings. They make you feel so welcome and you can tell they are excited to be on your journey to forever love!
