Bassett Furniture — Local services in San Marcos

After buying and getting rid of two sofas in our family room, that we purchased from other furniture stores, that did not hold up at all after a few years, we decided to go back to Bassett. We purchased our living room sofa and love seat 13 years ago from Bassett, and they are still in excellent condition. We also visited all the other furniture stores in the area and the quality at Bassett far surpassed the other stores. Also, Bassett has a seven year guarantee. No other store has that. Being able to have the sofa custom made to our desires was a huge benefit. Our Design Coordinator, Tricia Haarer was excellent. She was extremely knowledgeable about Bassett's furniture and was very helpful to us as we decided on the right sofa for our needs and wants. She explained clearly the differences in the sofas we looked at, the fabrics, and the types of filling that was available. Tricia was always very kind, very helpful and friendly. Patty, Zara, & The Basset Crew all were extremely kind, patient, & helpful. This was actually one of the first few furniture stores that I visited at the beginning of my couch hunting journey.. I decided to weigh my options & give other stores a chance but in the end something kept pulling me back to Basset! They are not like the others in a sense where the staff here doesn’t prey/bombard you into making a pity purchase. If you need help they’ll assist you gladly, & if you’re just window shopping they’ll let you be. Patty’s trusted opinion / expertise took a huge weight off my shoulders, especially during the design process. She made the whole experience super fun & easy-going. They also have a pretty wide variety of colors, textures, & patterns if you’re looking to customize. We frequently shop at Bassett and have loved the furniture and service! We just purchased a sectional couch for over $6000 and one of the pieces was damaged during shipping.

I called, they gave me a 3 hour window for a technician to come out. He looked at the couch and said "this is fixable." Now you ask... what does that mean?

Now Bassett wants to take the piece and repair it. We do not get a new piece, we loose a piece of our couch for an unknown period of time without a replacement. Basically, we have purchased damaged goods at full price. Oh, and even better, I have to take off a half day of work to be present during a 3 hour window so that Bassett can pick up my new damaged couch and repair it and then another half day to get it back.

Make sure to inquire before you purchase!!!!!! Better yet, save yourself money and time, go somewhere else. I have never heard of such a horrible policy. I get no refund, in fact I loose money because I have to take off work and I'm still left with...
