Hobby Lobby — Local services in San Marcos

The store has so much to offer, so many choices... So why the low rating...

Where to start? To say the customer service is lacking would be an understatement.

I witnessed a lady yell at a customer for asking if they carried a Buddha statue

I asked if they carried a specific style of lights and was rudely told “they're over there” pointing to the lamps. The lights were not there, I did find them on my own in the Christmas light area.

I asked again about some buttons and was again rudely told we have a huge sewing area over there..

My coupon wouldn’t load on my phone at the register, the cashier asked me to step a few steps away as this is a common issue, I did and the coupon loaded, i turned around 10 seconds later only to find the cashier ringing up the next person in line. (I had 4 small items) this lady had a cart full.

Another cashier opened her lane and said I’ll take who ever is next... to which I responded I’m next, she rudely said no she’s next and helped someone else.

I wish this was the end of the story... The lady who was checking out was asked “where did you get these” as the cashier showed her unpriced poster boards, as if somehow it was the customers fault that it was not labeled with a price.

It’s been 15 minutes now since i first attempted to checkout and the line is huge to checkout, I’m frustrated and don’t need to shop at a place that treats customers so poorly.

This was interaction with 4-5 different employees, one of which was an assistant manager, all interactions were unkind, and as if I was a nuisance for asking for help.

Oh my noodles! This store is huge with something for everyone! Whether you are a hobbyist or wish you were, there is way too much to choose from here. Artificial flowers to fabrics, beading and needle work options to painting or even paintings by other artists. Frames, patterns, art work, wall decor, oh my. And no matter what the season or celebration, this store always has a variety to choose from to decorated your home. The Christmas selection is one quarter of the massive floor plan.

I’ve been to several other hobby craft stores and I keep coming back to this one. Their Native American decor went home with mom and I. We were able to decorate our home beautifully from this one store!

Update: This store is still great! They are always busy due to great selections and customer service and support when you need it. With Joann’s going out of business June 2025, home craft and hobby enthusiasts who favored there will need a new place to go. I hit just the store for you! Hobby Lobby, right next door to Winco, best grocery store ever! Two great places, one stop shop. What more could...

I have never been more blown off at a store in my life! The manager they have at the San Marcos branch on Saturdays is a complete rude joke!!!!! First of all I couldn’t find was I was looking for and couldn’t find one employee to ask. I was in the back of the store walked to the front and seen 6 employees standing around doing nothing. I asked one of them if they could help me and she said she was new and to ask the lady with the red lanyard around her neck as she was the manager. I went up to her and she shrugged and said she didn’t know if they had what I was looking for. So I said ok and went to ask her another question and she looked at me turned away and started talking to another employee and totally blew me off!! I spend a lot of money at that store but will no longer be doing so and I’m gonna make sure to tell everyone I know about...
