Ding Tea San Marcos — Restaurant in San Marcos

I’ve always enjoyed getting boba from Ding Tea, but my recent experience was far from satisfactory. I placed an order for two drinks through the DoorDash app, and after receiving a text that my order was ready, I went inside to pick it up. However, I was told my drinks weren’t ready yet, which was frustrating as I had already received notification that they were.

Once the drinks were finally ready, I was handed only one and had to ask for the second one—something that should not have been overlooked. To make matters worse, when I received my Vietnamese iced coffee, it was only filled halfway. When I asked if they could fill it up, I was told that’s just how they make it, which was very disappointing. On top of that, I was given the wrong size for my drinks.

In summary: I was notified my order was ready when it wasn’t. One of the drinks was forgotten and had to be asked for. The Vietnamese iced coffee was filled only halfway. The drinks were given to me in the wrong size.

This was a really disappointing experience, and I hope these issues can be addressed to improve service...

Accessibility: there are a few disabled parking spots in front of the store but then the rest of the parking is pretty limited as this is a busy area with businesses and apartments directly next to it. There are two pull doors to enter the building but they were both propped open tonight around 8 PM. There are a few wheelchair accessible tables to use outside as well as more inside. The employees here are SUPER nice so if you need assistance, just ask and I bet they would gladly help.

Experience: as soon as I came inside the employees said "welcome" and it was very cute inside! When it was my turn to order the employees were so cheerful and happy to answer my 10 questions, not rushing me even with a line behind me. I felt very welcomed and attended to here! Great place with lots of tea options, whether you like really sweet or just plain black tea. They offer waffles (so f-ing good), macaroon ice cream sandwiches, the works. You can customize the ice level and sugar level they just ask for percentages which is cool. Instead of saying light ice i know I’m getting 25% ice they’re spot on.

Not a lot of seating room will say that, but nice and cozy. When busy the line goes out the door won’t support more than 10 people inside waiting in line. It’s a popular spot for college students and young people but don’t let...
