My daughter had an MRI scheduled for 8:00 AM. When we arrived, the front desk told us we were late because we hadn’t arrived 15 minutes early. Our appointment time was 8:00 AM, not 7:45 — an arbitrary expectation that wasn’t clearly communicated.
After that was sorted, my daughter was taken back and positioned on the MRI table. While she was waiting, I was at the front desk and informed that the cost was $656 and needed to be paid that day before they would proceed. I explained that I didn’t have my Health Savings Account card on me at the moment, but I was absolutely willing and able to pay — I just didn’t have the right card with me.
They refused to move forward with the procedure. Without hesitation, they contacted the technologist, who then returned to the room and told my daughter — while she was still lying on the MRI table — to get off because “your father cannot pay right now.” That moment was unnecessary and unprofessional, especially considering the situation could have easily been handled more discreetly and compassionately.
We weren’t refusing to pay — I simply didn’t have the correct card on hand. In my experience with United Healthcare, services are typically rendered first, then insurance is billed, and I pay the remaining balance. I’ve never had care denied this way. I used my debit card just so we could get this procedure over with.
We won’t be returning. The way this was handled was not only disappointing, but also lacked any empathy or basic...
Read moreGreat customer care. They did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. Everything was timely and well managed. Professional. Friendly. And responsible. 285 traffic threw me very late for my last appointment. I called and notified the office. When I got there, the young lady who checked me in expressed gratitude for my calling to tell them and said she was glad that I made it! How often are customer service moments like this missed? How often are phone messages not relayed to the appropriate people?
I decided that was the final straw and I HAD to recognize the great work of this office! Dr Ugwonali and his team were quick and efficient processing my leave papers for work... and got them right the first time! The quality and clarity of the xrays revealed things the referring physicians didn't even pick up! Well worth the drive from College Park! The physical therapy team in College Park is also really awesome. The front desk team is knowledgeable and quick. Sheila and Wanda know how to make you smile and want to come back. And it's so obvious that my physical therapist, Rachel, loves her career and cares.
If i ever break anything again... im going to go back...
Read moreGreat place! Dr. Henry is the BEST! I had 2 total knee replacements. The last one was a year ago. You won't find a better surgeon. He is very NO NONSENSE, and will Tell you like it is, but that is the kind of surgeon that you want. God bless his assistant Barbara! She will answer all of your questions no matter how many times you call - she is very kind and helpful. They made sure I was totally healthy before the surgery. The entire staff from the front desk to The X-ray department is great. Good Customer service is rare these days. Finding an entire office that seems to Enjoy what they do carries over to how they treat you. I...
