This review is based on my most recent visit and not my overall multi year experience with Peachtree Orthopedics. The front desk and office staff were friendly and professional as always, my problems are with Dr. Casinelli and his PA. First off, the new PA whom I’ve had no previous experience with seemed as if she wasn’t sure what she was doing there. But on to the real problem. I’ve been a patient of Dr. Casinelli’s for over 2 years. From my initial visit up to and through surgery including surgery follow ups he had been great. This seems to be where his care ceases. I m mo Rex had a fall in my home and have been experiencing increasing levels of pain since. My X-rays showed no bone damage which wasn’t terribly surprising. With this info I was told to do PT and that this wouldn’t be the last time I had back pain in my life. He also prescribed a mild muscle relaxer and steroid pack which have not helped at all in past so this decision was curious as well. This might sound like a typical diagnosis but the method of its delivery couldn’t have been more cold and uncaring. It seems as though Dr. Casinelli loves doing surgery and anything after that is your problem. At the time of writing this my back pain is still increasing and even day to day activities are becoming a problem. I do understand that due to insurance protocols that there are certain steps to follow in treatment but when your doctor tells you to get used to being in extreme pain and a comes off as if you’re inconveniencing him by asking for help, it makes you feel defeated .Not everyone who’s asking for pain relief is a addict trying to score pills. My most recent visit with Dr. Casinelli has left me feeling somewhat hopeless and trapped due to fact that changing doctors is often times an insurance nightmare. There are too many options for pain relief for doctors to let there patients suffer needlessly. My spouse was with me on this visit and got the same impression as I did from the entire experience. One more thing, I truly understand that there is still an opioid problem in our country, but not everyone who can use these medications has addiction issues. Sometimes people are truly in pain and just need help in the short term until the root problem is discovered. I get the feeling that Dr. Casinelli just doesn’t care enough to...
Read moreI was recommended to Peachtree Orthopedics by my primary care physician after I felt pain in my elbow and bicep which was accompanied by swelling (the swelling had not subsided in several weeks). I scheduled an appointment relatively easily. I was x-rayed and sent to my patient room. The doctor came in, looked at my elbow, asked me when I got my tattoo, and said I should get an MRI all in what was probably less than 5 minutes. He never investigated the swelling in my bicep and I had to ask about my x-rays (which were normal). I went to get the MRI (paid $1000). My followup was about 3.5 weeks after my original appointment. When I went in, they told me I had an outstanding balance on my account of $226. I asked what the charges are for, and they gave me an itemized list. The appointment alone (not including the x-ray) was $356 ($172 insured). Considering the treatment I got, this number is exorbitant. Less than 5 minutes with the doctor, and he spent more time asking about my day than trying to figure out what is wrong. I asked if I would have to pay the same amount for this appointment (probably for another 5 minutes for the doctor to recommend that I go to physical therapy where I could pay $50 a visit), and they said yes. I asked the staff if I could reschedule the appointment without charge, and they said yes. I want to cancel my rescheduled appointment. The amount I have had to pay for the absolute minimal treatment I got is laughable. It seems ridiculous that I would have to pay another $172 for the orthopedic to read off what I already have on my radiologist's report. I have found out way more on my own. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the staff were friendly and answered all my questions earnestly. Oh and $6 for parking each visit? This isn't...
Read moreI took my father to an appointment with Dr. Douglas Murray on October 4th and suffice it to say we were not pleased nor were we impressed. Dr. Murray was rude, arrogant, condescending and instead of talking to my father and I he was talking down to us he was referred to my dad by my father's primary orthopedist and he accused my father of forgetting how to use his shoulder and then gave him a cortisone shot on a "shot and a prayer" and then assigned him some physical therapy. The level of arrogance on display that day has absolutely no business in a doctor's office. Dr. Murray did not treat my father with anything beyond a shot of cortisone basically accused my father's primary orthopedist being stupid even though he didn't come out say it. He further said that he didn't know why he sent there nor what the referring physician or the radiologist that read the CT scan arthogram saw with my father's shoulder. Dr. Murray also manipulated my father's arm in several different positions that caused he pain and wouldn't stop nor did he seem to care. I am my father's caregiver so I take arrogance of this magnitude where my father's Medical Care is concerned personally and very seriously. It is my concerted opinion that if Dr Murray is going to be this rude towards patients in obvious pain that he should not be a doctor with this office.
On a positive note his staff was great there kindness and professionalism were top notch five stars, it was Dr. Murray's attitude and professionalism that left us wanting. I am sure Dr. Murray is a very good physician however, based upon his attitude and lack of professionalism if I have a choice of orthopedist I would always choose...
