Great place, wonderful pieces and great prices.
Although when I was walking out of the store I had heard some talk... I was a bit nosey and rounded the corner to see a sales associate dealing with two homeless people. ( from what I gathered) I over heard the worker say he was notifying the cops...rather they had already been notified and were on their way, he had sternly told them...basically to get out, stay out, and leave. Anyways there are some big trucks they have been abandoned it seems. 3 trailer cabs and a school bus. I assume by the irritated look on the mans face and by his whole demeanor that this isn't the first time he's had to deal with this type of situation nor his last. I was a bit thrown when I sat and observed the way the salesman dealt with them. I felt sad for the two. The husband had tried to explain and apologize to him and tell him their situation and he just wasn't having any of it. After the sales man had left to go inside i watched the young couple scramble to get their items together quickly and the husband left, while the wife had finished grabbing what was left. I saw her crying and pulled up to her at the gas station just down the road from JP. In tears she had explained to me that the past 5 months she and her husband have been homeless because of covid. She lost her job waitressing and their house had already been threatening the foreclosure process. Her husband is on disability and when she lost her jobless..they were forced to move into motels and live on unemployment. They recently lost those benefits and are struggling to stay in motel rooms and now panhandle and look fof shelter anyway they can get it. She told me its been a week of them not being able to afford motel rooms. So that is why they had stayed in the truck's cab that night before. I bought them some lunch and left them a few dollars and gave them some resources. I hope they find the help they'll need soon. Please never judge people you see anywhere you may go. They could be fighting battles you may never see in eyesight... As for JP...Im sorry that you have to deal with homeless people and the mess that some may leave but they needed shelter in a cold night and you didnt need to be so mean and call the authorities. Next time i hope you talk to them and lend a hand or even just explain to them what your problem with them being there is instead of being so...
Read moreI bought a "100% genuine leather" sectional from John Paras in Sandy 5 years ago. Within a year, the leather was discoloring and chipping- indicating that it was bonded, not genuine leather. I called for repair, and they did replace the unit, saying I must have had a flawed batch of leather on the first couch. Less than a year later the second couch was doing the same thing. I called John Paras again, and was told that since my complaint was more than a year after the original purchase date, they could not help me. They sold me a bonded leather sectional after swearing up and down it was genuine leather. I am now shopping for another sectional to finally replace the expensive fraud they sold me 5 years ago. John Paras furniture invited me back to the store to give me the "contractor's rate" to make up for the last experience. You know that that discount is? Less than 10%. Some discount. And when I was in the store, they once again pulled my sales ticket from last time and had the audacity to muse that the couch was genuine leather and I must have "got a bad batch." Stay away!!! Bait and switch. Straight up lies about the quality...
Read moreSo disappointed. My spouse and I were so excited for our new bed frame. It looked so beautiful in the store; We paid extra to have their team put it together. On the very first night, the side of the railing broke, Making all the thin boards (of which only 4 out of the 13 support slabs on wood of are actually screwed into the frame) feel weak near the headboard. I spent $800+ on this bed and I’m just so sad and so disappointed. We haven’t even slept in it, it’s been 6 hours since it was put together in our home. I weight 115 and my spouse only weighs a bit more than me, there was zero support underneath the bed. The wood feels so thin and cheap that it feels like all the support beams could snap at any moment. I have no idea what to do, I guess we have to sleep on our...
