As one can see in the attached screenshots, the Gamestop website says present the item to the store for trade in. So today I contact this location to ask if they require the AC adapter and HDMI cables to trade in or just the dock alone. The employee went on to tell me that no Gamestop stores accept an on site trade in of Switch docks and the whole system could only be traded in. He seemed blowm away that one would even assert that it was possible. I told him about what the website says and he was oblivious to it. So, I called the Cary location, and no problem. They said bring it in with cables and trade it and of course they took docks for trade in.
I've had numerous similar dealings with the Sanford location and this is the last time I'll attempt to deal with them for trade in or even purchase something without trade in. Not sure if an employee issue or a management issue but Gamestop can just keep my $5 a month coupon from my Pro Membership for the rest of my subscription and I'll buy elsewhere, just as I did today when I went and spent my $130 on a game amd controller at another store after the above occurred. Read moreI had an issue with a purchase and they had to void my transaction but somehow my payment was successful to gamestop. Now the store keep giving me the runaround about my refund. After coming to the location to settle the issue (3 days in a row), I finally decide that I was going to settle it today. Every single day was a different person and they were allegedly "new". The last guy Clay, called the manager and said i was irate and cursing and all I said was that I had been up there 3 days in a row and I wanted more information than to "come back". I already saw where that situation was going so I called an officer to mediate the situation further. I'm very professional and never had any issues with the local gamestop but now everytime I go into the store, the associate claims they are "new" and they can't help me. Everyone remembers the transaction but they don't know how to find it. At this point, I'm calling corporate and filing a complaint. Be careful with these stores, they no longer value...
