While on vacation in Cape Coral, we had an evening with friends scheduled. Since going to a restaurant with 8 adults would not be a pleasant experience with all of the COVID restrictions, we decided to host from our home. As I wanted to enjoy the evening and not be stuck in the kitchen cooking, cleaning and serving food, I decided to reach out to Leslie for help. I had never engaged a personal chef before, so the experience was new to me entirely.
Leslie proved to be the best choice I could have ever made...she is a true professional. She was able to competently guide me through the menu selection process patiently (her menu is extensive and it all looks and sounds delicious). Leslie offers a full menu, including hors d'oeuvres, soups, entrees and desserts.
Upon her arrival at our home, Leslie quietly and efficiently found her way around my kitchen, had everything prepared and engaged her amazing assistant Janet to serve wine for our arriving guests. The food, starting with hors d'oeuvres was divine. It all tasted lovely, our guests were so happy and we were able to enjoy the evening focusing on our company rather than me having to cook. The entree, we chose the beef tenderloin with a mushroom risotto and grilled vegetables, was fantastic. Everything was prepared to perfection, we were pampered with extras and our wine glasses never ran empty. From start to her divine panna cotta dessert, we felt like royalty and Leslie and Janet made sure we had no want.
To add to all of this: Leslie left my kitchen squeaky clean, dishwasher running and I had nothing to do but to enjoy the rest of our evening. She did all of this for a cost that is less than taking a group out to dinner at a nice restaurant. Sounds too good to be true? It's true. I would recommend Leslie to anyone who wants to entertain in style and enjoy the evening with friends rather than having to stand in the kitchen all night.

The first time, I had to call around forever to find a caterer that was willing to take on a last-minute Italian dinner order for my boss and his European clients who decided to spend a night in Sanibel. Even though Mrs. Adams was working on a wedding reception for the same day, she took the time to walk me through my first catering order over the phone. When I mentioned that the guests were arriving from Italy the very next day, she assured me that she will take care of it. She sure knew what real Italians are looking for! She delivered a variety of savory hors d'oeuvres and salads and bread. As the pasta dish she made deconstructed black truffle ravioli from scratch. I can’t remember the name of the meat dish, but it was some type of braised lamb. She recommended the desert to be a lemon curd on short bread with raspberry coulis. Believe it or not, the boss of my wife called me and thanked me for finding Leslie Adams. The second time I have worked with the chef was a small event for a non-profit organization (again for my boss). Even though they had to work on a tight budget, Mrs. Adams prepared beef bourguignon as the main dishes. She surprised the non-profit organization with a grilled crudité and cold appetizer trays for starters. (Never heard about stuffed apricots with goat cheese! In March I booked a date in May for Leslie to provide appetizers for my wedding dinner at my condo in Sanibel. She confirmed the date, sent me a menu, and never got back with me again until I called her 48 hours before the scheduled dinner to ask why I had not heard from her.
She informed me that she had Covid and could not do the dinner. She had no alternative plans or suggestions for me to pursue. She left me totally hanging. I totally understand that people get sick and that things come up. She should have given me advanced notice or had a backup plan to suggest when she realized that she could not do the event. She had nothing.
Leslie has a 5- star rating on Sanibel for her food but her communication and follow thru don't warrant a single star from my experience. This may be a rare hiccup in her business, but it was a huge hiccup. I will...
