The Magic Bus Ice Cream & Caffeine — Restaurant in Sanibel

Some things are just natural mood boosters and make you feel like a kid again such as ice cream and cookies...and coffee for BIG kids lol. Here, add to that happy, groovy colors, music & decor, a cool passionate staff like owner Elke (a smart, creative, savvy, personable business woman) and her daughter Amanda, good vibes all around, and you have a must visit experience on Sanibel! The coffee is equally great and is what brought me in. Honestly I wasn't expecting they'd be using Lavazza which is "Italy's Favorite Coffee" and my personal favorite! The whole groovy VW Bus theme decor and vibe is sooo charming! Natural mood boost experience not to be missed. I didn’t stop in to eat at the restaurant Wickies next door, which Elke also co- owns, but based on this experience, would love to visit that as well. There are also equally charming shops adjacent to each other that you should visit. Only things I think could be improved are the cookies and that they offer other sweeteners like Stevia or Equal. Shops like these are the often unexpected surprises even more memorable than the "Top Tourist Attractions" on trips like these, and this is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend! What a cool place! If Willy Wonka had an ice cream shop he would try to do it like The Magic Bus. The whole atmosphere screams “welcome back to childhood” and in the greatest way! The decor is so whimsical you never want to leave and that menu….OH MY! I opted for the Banana Bus. Duuuude! The whole thing was amazing but I was absolutely blown away by that “plain” chocolate ice cream. SO chocolatey and creamy I tell my husband everyday “know what I’m craving” and he already knows the answer is ice cream from The Magic Bus. My picture doesn’t do it justice. They handed me a pristine sundae loaded with coconut, strawberry cheesecake, chocolate, banana, whipped cream and cherries and I took the picture AFTER I dove in. I couldn’t wait lol. My mom and I went in on the spur of the moment and it was the best decision all day. We had the banana boat and it was fantastic. The ice cream was creamy and full of flavor. They put plenty of toppings on the boat. Normally you only get a splash of chocolate or caramel but the serving was very generous. The Key Lime ice cream rocks. I highly recommend The Magic Bus of Sanibel. Honestly, I think it is the best ice cream on the island.

To add bonus points, when I inquired about tree nuts since I am allergic, the lady behind the counter gave me a cheat sheet that listed the flavors and it indicated which ice creams had my allergen. She did warn me they can't promise that cross contamination doesn't occur but she...
