I'll admit up front that this is the only shell shop I visited on Sanibel but from my limited perspective, it's awesome! Proprietor Bill knows his shells and happily answers questions and provides assistance. The selection of shells is mind boggling -- admittedly, they're from around the world, not just Sanibel / South Florida. The prices seemed reasonable to me given we couldn't find any shells nearly as nice in our own shell searching. There are 1 gallon ziploc bags full of interesting (much better than any we found) Sanibel Island shells for $13.95, or you can get a quart ziploc for $7.95. If you have more to spend, he has very neatly organized table upon table of shell displays -- from typical to exotic - conch shells, sand dollars and all manner of small to large shells in plain to exotic colors. Anything you want or need to know, they can guide you. They have a large collection of local and world shells in showcase quality. Be sure to check out their world record size Junonia. They also offer fossils and gems. They offer tiny specialty shells and frames for making sailor's valentines.
