I'll admit up front that this is the only shell shop I visited on Sanibel but from my limited perspective, it's awesome! Proprietor Bill knows his shells and happily answers questions and provides assistance. The selection of shells is mind boggling -- admittedly, they're from around the world, not just Sanibel / South Florida. The prices seemed reasonable to me given we couldn't find any shells nearly as nice in our own shell searching. There are 1 gallon ziploc bags full of interesting (much better than any we found) Sanibel Island shells for $13.95, or you can get a quart ziploc for $7.95. If you have more to spend, he has very neatly organized table upon table of shell displays -- from typical to exotic - conch shells, sand dollars and all manner of small to large shells in plain to exotic colors. Prices seemed very reasonable. I don't know if it's politically correct to purchase shells -- but hey, this is the first and perhaps only time we'll do so during our boys' childhood.

Went to a few different beaches on Sanibel Island and our favorite was the Light House Beach. We will be returning for sure.

The best shell shop on the island. DO NOT waste your time with the tourist shops. This family owned business is akin to a natural history museum. Anything you want or need to know, they can guide you. They have a large collection of local and world shells in showcase quality. Be sure to check out their world record size Junonia. They also offer fossils and gems. They offer tiny specialty shells and frames for making sailor's valentines. You will find unique gift items to take home and the resident artist MaryBeth creates hand crafted items, such as wreaths, Christmas ornaments and jewelry. No visit to Sanibel is complete without a visit to...

The finest shell shop on Sanibel Island.

Skip the rest.

This is BY FAR the best.

Family owned and staffed for 19 years.

The owners interacted fully with us, discussing not just their incredible inventory but the beaches and where and when to find which species of shell we were seeking as we ourselves are experienced biologists on our 5th trip.

They have Sanibel Island shells as well as shells 🐚 from all over the world 🌎.

They carry project kits and mounted specimen shells ready for display.

The "famous" seashell shop in town is not worth visiting as prices have gone way up while service, quality and selection have gone way down.

Come...
