I’ve had a lot of work done over the years, they have worked on my mainstay laptops, and I’ve had some pretty significant work done, replaced hard drives, a few replaced keyboards, and trackpads, RAM installation…a MACBOOK pro that I had for years they replaced the hard drive, and that was something they detected during a trackpad replacement, and they turned that machine into a powerhouse I owned for years. That’s when things like that was possible for mere consumers, but that’s neither here nor there: my point was that the owner is an old school techie, knows what’s what, and he has a tech that’s been around for years, too, and these guys know the biz. Are there more inexpensive options? I don’t know, I gravitated toward them back when there was less competition, and all the work they’ve done was too -notch. I just spilled coffee on the keyboard of a brand new Surface 7 laptop, first time I bought the years current tech, and that’s on me. Because I just spent so much $$ on the 2025 laptop, I sprung to keep it brand new: they replaced the keyboard and cover the keyboard is enclosed by, and they meticulously cleaned out all the coffee/sugar mixture that got inside. Really, a very involved job. Now, there is no evidence it ever happened. Do you value experience, professionalism and top to bottom mastery of the thing you are paying to be handled? Look no further. I’d also say, the adage “ you get what you pay for” be more true. One small thing. I was charged a “credit card fee” of $12.50 on pickup, after I thought I’d settled my invoice, and while the clerk wasn’t able to explain this last minute charge completely , I was left to assume that was a charge related to the % VISA charges the business just to use the VISA transaction - completing mechanism, the thing you swipe your card with when you pay. To pass THAT along to the consumer, well! I do take issue with that, but in the end I just wanted to get my machine back and leave. I hope the owner at least figures such a charge into the cost of service, in the future, if I had a single qualm with the business. Again, a great business, worthy of your patronage, possibly to the exclusion of about...
Read moreThe two stars are for Michael, the guy with the beard, as a credit to his friendliness and professionalism. I brought my beloved server tower here to sell, while I can understand repairs are higher priority than purchases, I was hoping for a more cut and dry experience rather than waiting around on Craigslist or whatnot. Well, Kavin seems like he could not be bothered making decisions nor giving his staff decision making power all while being a pretty hands off owner. I haven't seen or spoken to him directly, but shortly after bringing in my tower he "went out of town" and wouldn't be expected back for a week or two. They wouldn't be able to make me an offer until his return. If you don't want to be bothered making decisions, let your staff take initiative and trust their judgement. After waiting a week I hadn't heard anything - and having called in after half a week - I was expecting the worst based on other reviews, but after some misdirected anger toward Michael, they did indeed still have my tower and understood if I'd prefer to take my business elsewhere. It's a shame because I enjoy supporting small businesses and would prefer to have had us both mutually benefited from my...
Read moreI brought my laptop to these crooks. I should have listened to the other reviews claiming these people as thieves that take advantage of peoples ignorance with technology. My laptop would not power on. They claimed they were 40.00 per hour and they were running a special on such cases as these. They said it would take five hours to take the machine apart. That's $200.00. I had a bad feeling about the whole deal and wanted a second opinion. I called Santa Cruz Digital Solutions and the technician there had me loosen one screw on the back of the laptop and there I found a small reset switch. Pushed the button and the laptop is fine. This company is $80.00 per hour and know what they are doing. Why are Computer Zone's rates 40 an hour? Because they are low life crooks. They have inexperienced kids working here and in the end you will pay through your teeth. Advise. STAY...
