Rude staff, this place is actually very weird, the first time I was here the lady was really nice, helped me around and was very patient, the second time it was an old man and he just sorta stares at me when I went to check out. This time i didn’t even get in the store, I knocked on the door like I always do, there’s a postit saying “be right back”, another customer said that the sign has been there for almost an hour, i saw there’s a person inside so i was looking at him, he walked to the door with food in his hands and rudely pointed at the “be right back” and went back to his seat. I don’t know how long the sign has been there but the staff’s attitude made me decide to leave. The staff was a male with bald head.
(In reply to the owner’s response, I am not a regular, if you didn’t realize I said I’ve been here three times. And it was the OTHER customer that’s probably a regular that TOLD ME the sign was there for almost an hour. From what I can get, I just arrived there, and the OTHER customer said probably knock because the sign has been there for almost an hour. I knocked, the staff wasn’t gonna response until he saw me looking inside the store, and he rushed to the door to point at the sign rudely. If you have food in your mouth and can’t speak, at least gesture and show some manner instead of just rush to the door, pointed at the sign like im...
Read moreI have shopped at Serpent's Kiss on and off for about six years. I love the selection of magical products and how knowledgeable the staff is. I've lived in several cities, and Serpent's Kiss is by far one of the most well-stocked and open-minded metaphysical stories I've shopped in. It's definitely my favorite, so I try to swing by and check it out whenever I'm in Santa Cruz.
I'm obsessed with Hoodoo style witchcraft/root work and Serpent's Kiss is one of the only stores that carries Lucky Mojo products. I feel like it made me biased against Wicca because I was "forced" into that system of magic rather than developing a natural draw to its teachings. So it's nice they carry Hoodoo stuff because I'm slowly starting to like certain aspects of Wicca now that I feel like I have some choice.
But anyways, if you are a magical practitioner of any system of magic, you should check out Serpent's Kiss. They have tarot decks, crystals & stones, herbs & roots, and oils & candles. I've never NOT found at least one oil or stone I can use later in my...
Read moreI'll always recommend this location to practitioners new and old. We came back this season to pick up a few gifts for the holidays after almost a year of not being able to stop by. COVID-19 safety measures were well apparent and, while we were asked to keep touching the items to a minimum, our shopping experience wasn't hindered in any serious way. The shop's selection of both raw and polished gems, card decks, herbs, and literary resources is well varied. The staff is incredible at not only helping you find what you're looking for, but also at showing you items that might be a good alternative or add-on. And if you have any questions about what you're doing as a beginner in your craft, they're eager to...
