I came here with some friends after seeing all the hype on Instagram. We came here on a Sunday around 2pm. It was crazy busy and loud as hell inside. we ordered the breakfast burger ($13.50) and shrooms ($12.50), and the mad chick ($13.50). We ended up waiting around 20 minutes. unfortunately, most of our food was neither hot nor living up to the hype.
the only sandwiches that were hot were the mad chicks, probably because they had to be fried to order. some of the people in our group had to go and ask for their order since they were waiting longer than everyone else. turns out their order was finished, but it was chilling in the kitchen instead of being given to us.
honestly, for the wait time, price, and online hype, i was extremely disappointed. I really don't mind waiting or paying higher prices for food as long as it's hot and tasty when I receive it. the taste was just ok, nothing particularly special, and everyone's sandwich except for the chicken sandwiches was lukewarm. the atmosphere was unbearable, it was so loud inside of the tiny store and all the tables were taken. we couldn't even eat inside. the employees were nice so one extra star for them.
overall, I'm disappointed that I spent 20 minutes and nearly $15 for an average,...
Read moreI searched "food open near me" to try to avoid Jack in the Box, and Mad Yolks popped up. I checked out the menu, and was intrigued... Curry for breakfast? Hmmm. So I went over, parked about 25ft from the entrance, and cruised in. It's bright inside, but not overwhelming. Pleasing colors (no doubt they were chosen for their effect on mood), plenty of seating, and it was super clean. Staff was chipper (but not annoying) and seemed to actually be happy to be there. They didn't rush me to order, and helped me the moment I was ready. It was a bit expensive (sandwich/dirty tots/tip = $27), but I'm not really complaining after eating my food... I took it home (took about 10 minutes), and when I pulled it out of the bag, it was still perfectly warm. The BAE sandwich came first, and it was bursting at the seams. It was DELICIOUS. The caramelized onions were the right amount sweet and so so good. After the sandwich, I dug into the dirty tots. Dang, those were super good too! I wish they had an option for spicy curry, but I'm not sad with what I got, at all. All in all, super tasty, great presentation, welcoming staff, quick serving, and I WILL be back. Also I love the chicken on the takeout bag lol. They've got a good thing going here, I wish...
Read moreFound this gem in Santa Cruz while picking up some stuff on sale and decided to find something to eat in the area. fFund this place close by that just opened. There is a paid parking garage close by or paid street parking. I believe it was opened 5 month again in a very busy downtown by the marina. Cute busy place where you can see many college students go. Very hip welcoming restaurant.
I love eggs and bread. I always look forward to good eggs and good bread. How do I describe it? I just loved it! The bread is like the Chinese pork bun bread but better, softer and butterier. The egg was moist and cooked just right with cheese. The B.A.E was good but wished it had more avocados and bacon but I know it would be more expensive than it is already. We also ordered the Mad Chick. How do i describe this? The chicken was very good, crunchy and moist, good size. They use dark meat and the breading had a little spice to it and it tastes good together with arugula. We also tried the pineapple & mango tea drink which was very good too.
Customer service was good. Line was fast. Tables are not make and have a few tables outside but I can tell it can get pretty busy here. Wish they had a place closed to home. Will be back when in...
