The park and city need to let nature fill and dump the river .Under their control they are damaging the ecology of san lorenzo river. Stop the digging of the river mouth to fill the river up to capacity. Stop creating algae blooms. Clean the river of all the trash in it. Most of all stop interfering with the natural breaking open of the rivermouth.

Absolutely a wonderful little slice of greatness!! This park has plenty of shade, a small pond where birds often hang out, (ducks, Canadian Geese, & others), grassy hills to lay on, & just a general quiet atmosphere. Yesterday whilst I was there, a pack of Canadian Geese just walked right by me, & went to drink from the pond. It was lovely!!

This is a nice little park for children , it has a play ground, and i believe is pet friendly, is located two blocks from downtown. Sadly there are many homeless people living by this park some of them not too friendly, i encourage parents to keep an eye on their children but overall is a nice area to go for a walk. Restrooms not so clean.

Freedom thrives at San Lorenzo Park, the famous historical location where "Bear and Bull" linGo oriGinated from back when the Spanish settlers would fight the beasts in a brutual contest to the death. Apparently the courts have been fightinG to shut down the public campinG that is home for the house less durinG the pandemic ~ struGGlinG to shelter in place is real for so many yO. Currently those attempts have been blocked by the riGhts Guaranteed to us, the people, by the Constitution of the United States of America, and the Golden State of California. After beinG around the world, the conclusion remains, there's no place quite like this, grateful and blessed...

This is a great Park. It has a great children's play area. Unfortunately Santa Cruz has a homeless problem that for some reason they are doing nothing to help these poor people that are homeless due to the high rents in Santa Cruz county. There is literally hundreds of homeless living at San Lorenzo Park now I was shocked when I went there every inch of that park has tents and homeless it's not the homeless people's fault it's our city legislators fault they need to build some housing or provide housing for these people that are out in the cold terrible situation I'm ashamed to be...

Fundamentally, the purpose of this land is no longer really a park, it's mostly a supervised homeless encampment. While this is very necessary given the state of housing in the city, it makes it not a great place to visit for leisure. The ponds are often kind of dingy, although you can still find a fair amount of birds and lilypads in them. The playgrounds are usually deserted and the fields down by the water are inaccessible due to tents. If you want a park, it's probably best to...
