I am a licensed medical massage therapist in 2 states since 14 years. The procedure for the renewal of one's massage license in NM / Santa Fe, is still the same as the first time I had to renew it 12 years ago. Florida is so much more advanced, whenever one takes CE classes they get automatically reported to the FL massage board. One gets then sent an email when it is time for the 2 year renewal, telling one to pay the fee for the renewal and that ones CE classes are met if one fulfilled the 16 CE requirements. This is a so much better way of doing a license renewal than in NM, it is more eco friendly, time saving, never to have to call the FL Massage Board for any questions, which takes hours and hours in NM/ Santa Fe, to get through. Why not take an example on the FL Massage Board Bureaucracy? It would save so much hassle for everybody and it would be eco friendly not having to print out papers and using checks when going to their office. Very outdated system at the NM...
Read moreThere is a saying in Chinese: there's no comparison, then theres no harm. When I lived at New Mexico, I have tried contact the Massage Board multiple times, they never answer the phone (was on hold for 1+ hour) and never replied the emails. HOWEVER, they have open access office for us to visit, and get things sorted IMMEDIATELY. It took them about less than a week after I submitted the application and got my license. ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT. The Arizona Massage therapy board on the other hand, does NOT even have a valid phone number to call, does NOT reply to emails, and does NOT have public access offices. Their front desk's hand book for receiving drop offs even states: DO NOT call them (internal line) or get someone down from the office t0 answer questions, only contact them via email WHICH THEY NEVER REPLY. Everything just goes into the abyss. Lesson learned: DO NOT MOVE TO ARIZONA. I didn't appreciate New Mexico Massage Board enough. You...
Read moreIf I could give them no stars I would. I've had so many issues with this board. They don't get anything done on a timely manner. More than half won't answer a call or email. Its unorganized and the people are rude and act like you owe them something. If you ever me a group of people that seemed depressed with their jobs, these would be them. I've had nothing but trouble with New Mexico's board and I'm licensed in three States. Thry nickle and dime you and want you to jump through extra hoops and expect you to wait around on them as if you have nothing else to do, and you'd better be grateful. Good luck dealing with them. Have time and patience, yo uh re...
