Honest Reviews The restaurant is located off a major street in Santa fe in the back of the strip off the street. The sign is in the front but the restaurant is in the rear. We stopped in for a late lunch around 3pm. There was a family of 6 ladies infront of us ordering & only one man on the register it seemed like one cook & 1 waiter. The cashier was pretty fast & made a lot of suggestions to them. When we came to the register we didn't notice the chalkboard with the specials next to the register & the cashier told us about the specials which made sense and saved us money. I ordered a combo meal that came with a fountain drink, hamburger, fries and I asked for a tortilla burger with all the garnish, green chile, cheese, guacamole, grilled onions, & bacon well done and you had to add your own ketchup, mayo and mustard by the fountain drinks station and sweet potato fries wich was great to hear they offered. The other combo meal was a cheeseburger with all the garnish and bacon well done. The meals came out really fast considering there was only one cook and 6 ladies infront of us. My order was with bread instead of a tortilla and no green chile. I told the waiter and he offered to exchange it but I only asked for a side of green & opted to eat it anyway. The sweet potato fries were really good & well seasoned. The burger was good and cooked correctly. The guacamole was too watery. The bacon was overcooked. The green chile had flavor but not spicy at all. The meal is big enough to fill you up and the sweet potato fries are a generous portion. The cashier came out & greeted us and turned out he was the owners son. I thought it was really professional of him to greet and ask how the meal was? I was honest with him with everything but told him overall it was a good experience. It makes you feel better when an owner, manager or a person in charge takes the time to ask about your experience. I didn't give 5 stars because of the mistakes & the burnt bacon, & watery guacamole. I would visit again and give them...
Read moreWent there for the first time yesterday. From the outside it looked a bit rundown and inside it has a strange configuration, but that’s ok. It seemed like a one-man show: taking orders, going to the kitchen, fixing the soda machine, waiting tables. We eventually saw 2 others come from the back. The place had a surprising amount of seating once we got around the corner.
We got a special (burger, regular fries, drink) and a strawberry shake. $15 + 20% tip and we paid $18.
We asked for the burger to be cooked “well-done” with everything (onions, mushrooms, cheese). Iceberg lettuce, pickles and tomato came on the side. With all piled on it was a mouthful. It was tasty, but my wife was grossed out by how raw the burger still was. Maybe I’d ask for fully cooked or very well done next time? The fries were also not fully cooked either, but were very greasy. My take is the oil wasn’t hot enough. The shake was fine, but much like McDonalds shake with no evidence of actual strawberries. Overall, my wife said at that price, she’s...
Read moreOkay, so this place is incredibly unassuming from the outside. We almost did not go in as we could not figure out the random patio table outside and this open door with tons of boxes BUT we went for it.
You walk in and order right there, the guy behind the counter is SUPER friendly and helpful with the menu. A genuine welcoming friendly vibe. We ordered green chile cheesburgers, ribbon fries and of course had to get the red chile Frito pie.
The dining room is basic and clean, with a nice condiment bar that was also clean and kept up. The place had a steady stream of regulars which is telling. We got our food and went to town on it. I have to say that the green chile cheeseburger was 5 star, the buns were different and very fresh tasting. Maybe they make them in house? The red chile Frito pie was yummy, it kinda took me back a couple of decades.
I am a fiend for a great burger, and this place delivered! The green chile burger alone is 5...
