Sharing my experience with Dr. Kormeili's office to help others. I initially was referred to her office by my mom who had a pleasant experience, so I decided to try them out. Here were the string the issues I encountered.
My appointment was at 11:30, I wasn't seen until 12:00 pm after the consultation, and quote it was 1:30 pm. Not enough time for me to get anything done because I had to go back to work. If you go to this office plan on spending at least 2 hours there.
I'm 38 years old and just wanted to get Botox and her opinion to "refresh" my face. The "master plan" that Dr. Kormeili provided to me was over $10,000.00. Let's just say I didn't feel great about myself after meeting with her.
I thought the quote for some of the services was extremely high $450 for an angioma, over $2,000 for 3 v-beam treatments, $690 of Botox. So, I called my mom and asked her what services she got and what her quotes were. What I will say to keep it short, my quotes were jacked up significantly!! The quotes my mom received were less than mine. Not cool Dr. Kormeili. I called the front desk to ask why that happened and Julisa's response "I don't know" They probably do this to all their patients.
I had to go back to get my $200 consultation fee used otherwise I would have lost that, so I get the cheapest service out of the list, when Dr. Kormeili was injecting my eyes "crowfeet" she said "you have a lot veins near you eyes and I don't want to bruise you." Guess what, I got bruised on both sides of my eyes. Mind you, I've gotten Botox in these areas before by PAs and NPs and I have not gotten bruised.
She suggested I get a cortisone injection on a pimple on my face, I agreed because I thought she was doing it complimentary. I go to the front I get charged over $250 for that injection.
Summary of my experience here: Not trustworthy, I got bruised on my face, plan on waiting a long time, and expect to spend a lot of money. I paid what I owed and walked out and will never step foot in her office again.
Google Reviews: I hope you all have a better way of not allowing businesses to "Buy Reviews" I'm astonished at her having so many positive reviews
I’d like to update my review to note how Dr. Kormeili goes out of her way to respond and comment on positive reviews and chooses not to acknowledge or respond on negative ones. Another indication of her poor service and lack of integrity. Not to mention at my last visit she offered me a free facial that was not provided either. Another lie. Such a...
Read moreI would not go to this doctor for anything medical. I cannot speak to the aesthetic side of things. I had a long-term issue with an eye rash that was nasty. I wanted to have the surgeon reposition it (from brain tumor) but I had to get rid of this condition first. I chose this surgeon on reviews because no one I know goes to a dermatologist (just plastic surgeons for injections). She comes in and barely glances at the list of products I was taking topically prior to the visit (not working). She claims that it most likely was an allergy because I use tape to close one eye from a tumor surgery (fun times). Gives me two names of doctors for allergy tests and then prattles on about inspiring others and sharing my story. She spends the entire duration of the visit talking about this. Needless to say, she did not instill ANY confidence I may have had with her skills. I listened and nodded but I could not wait to leave. When she left, I noticed a card with the information she spent 99% of the visit talking about (Share Your Story complete with a QR code). Yes, she has a friendly demeanor, her staff is pleasant, and her office is decent (great location across from Erewhon) but I did not go to a dermatologist for therapy. I went to get rid of a very nasty rash and I left having wasted my time driving over the hill in fun West LA traffic for quite literally nothing. Upon leaving, I got a call around an hour later that a dermatologists' schedule opened up (I had called around prior to this visit). The dermatologist was not in a bougie building and the office was on the older side HOWEVER, the dermatologist knew her stuff and gave me some samples to try before filling the prescription. I was not expecting much having now had TWO dermatologists in the last nearly 3/4 of a year. My rash of more than half a year was gone in less than two days. Just my tale and hopefully it INSPIRES readers to do their...
Read moreI needed to show myself some compassion; the stress I’ve been under started to manifest through my skin: it looked dull, not cared for, just…blah. My skin was truly a reflection of how I felt. I made an appointment for a 60 minute facial with Vanessa at the Derm and Rejuvenation Institute. It was a great decision! The name checks out: I feel rejuvenated! Vanessa is warm, approachable, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. She made me feel welcome and relaxed…..that was step 1 of my journey. She educated me throughout my session about what is best for MY skin. Necessary disclosure: I am of African-American descent……they take care of US at the Derm & Rejuvenation Institute! I digress. In addition to her knowledge and professionalism, Vanessa has GIFTED HANDS. Her technique is so soothing; the stress and tension melted away under her care. 10 minutes in and I had 3 people in mind that I intended to refer to her! Now……when I left……I had the dew-kissed look of a celebrity! I stopped at one store after I left, and received four compliments on my “beautiful skin” . When i went to work the next day….MORE compliments! But honestly, besides the fact that I LOOKED better….i just FELT better. The time spent with Vanessa was time well-spent! Vanessa’s hands and Dr. Kormeili’s products….i may have truly discovered the fountain of youth…or at least the fountain of cuteness! Go get some...
