I was referred to Peter Fields by my chiropractor, when nothing I’d tried was fixing my strained knee. I’d had a good experience with PRP some years before, through another clinic that had since closed, and Dr. Fields had an excellent reputation.
Before I even dealt with Dr. Fields, I was treated to his excellent and delightful support staff. Both Ally and Jessica were, and continue to prove, supportive, professional, and always willing to go extra to meet any concerns I’ve had.
Dr. Fields himself is similarly a great mix of friendly, funny, and superbly knowledgeable. After studying my x-rays, he was able to zero in on exactly where the problem in my knee centered, and perform quick and precise treatments on it.
For those who don’t know, PRP refers to Platelet-Rich-Plasma. It involves a doctor taking some of your blood, centrifuging it, and injecting the rich heavy plasma into a needful area. In this case, into the specific part of a wound that has been struggling to heal. The plasma, which of course your body accepts since it’s yours, can be just what the wound needs to regrow tissue that’s been unable to do so in the past.
In the end, my adventure with Dr. Fields became much more complex than we’d originally thought. My left knee problems, once fixed, uncovered damage in my right knee, left hip, and eventually my left ankle – probably the causal problem, from a skiing accident I had forty years ago!
I’m still getting work on that foot, and not at the level of playing tennis for hours every week, as I was some years back. But unlike when I started, I can now run a mile, swim multiple laps, drive or sit comfortably on an airplane for four hours… and just this week I played Pickleball for the first time, walking happily away after an hour on the court. All of these were inconceivable when I first came to Dr. Fields’ office.
Of course there will be people who require different treatments – whether lighter (chiropractic, podiatric, acupuncture) or stronger (surgery). But if PRP or stem cell is right for you, I cannot recommend Dr. Fields, and his support staff, enough. This process has truly allowed me to live again, in ways I wasn’t sure...
Read moreI started with Dr. Fields about six months ago with a torn rotator cuff. I did the bone marrow and adipose stem cells, with a follow up after six weeks of the PRP. I wasn't able to lay on that shoulder did not have full range. After the first four weeks, I could tell that I could move it better. It was definitely less painful when moving. But I really couldn't sleep on it yet. Each month it continued to improve until finally on the fifth month. I could totally roll on it, sleep on it, and it feels amazing. I have full range of movement. I started PRP for my lower back about five months ago. I had chronic lower back pain for the past four years. Before that I was constantly battling with it, but it wasn't chronic. My back would totally lock up in the morning where it would take me almost 2 hours before I could move again with ibuprofen and pain pills if I could ever get them, which is saved me when ibuprofen or and or Tylenol did not help. After my first PRP injection I it was a little better. Enough to try the second one. He told me it would be 3 to 5 injections before I would notice. After the third injection, my back was locking up maybe once a week or once every other week it was amazing compared to where it was just three months prior. I'm getting ready to go for my fourth injection and I am overjoyed with the results. I have been dealing with chronic pain for so long. I feel like I can have my life back. It was worth every dime I spent. Thank you Dr. Fields and your amazing...
Read moreFive stars are not enough for Dr. Fields. I have been an athlete for forty years and sooner or later was bound to have an age-related injury. I had heard of Dr. Fields for many years so when my chiropractor, Dr. Vessey, in Arcadia said we had reached a point where I needed more - the soreness in my tailbone and the numbness that occasionally occurred in my leg could not be healed with manipulation alone. Dr. Vessey told me to see Dr. Fields because he had received Regenerative Orthopedics with exceptional results (he was a college football player, and everyone knows what happens to their backs later in life). Dr. Vessey said that he was going to have to quit working because of his back pain and thought his life was over.) Dr. Fields saved him, so I thought why not me.
Dr. Fields looked at my x-ray and MRI and nd after examining me, said that I was a good candidate for his treatment, so I scheduled my first Regenerative Orthopedic treatment (PRP/Prolotherapy). I was in and out of his office in an hour and a half. I followed his instructions on how to care for my back and by my second treatment, there was a noticeable difference. The third treatment was a few weeks ago. My lower back (the culprit of my problems) may need one or two more treatments, but I am back to my former life swimming, doing yoga, cycling, etc.
Am I glad I avoided surgery? You bet! Dr. Fields saved me from surgery and gave me my life back. And thanks to your...
