I'm not typically one to give poor reviews, but--sadly--my experience at the Men's Wearhouse in Santa Monica, CA was so bad that it feels like a diservice to others using this review section to make their decision on where to shop if I don't share about my experience. In summary, when I first came into the store I did not feel very welcomed by the staff. I could tell they were busy and I'm a pretty patient person, but the attitude I was greeted with was one that made me feel like an inconvenience to their schedule. They made it feel like I was bothering them. Then, after a 15 minute wait, I was told that their network was down and I could not submit an order on a custom suit. "Our network goes down every morning at this time," they said, "come back another time." The next day I followed up on the phone with them in the afternoon to confirm that their network was available for me to put in my order and they responded by saying, "our network goes down every afternoon around this time."
So, to anyone reading this with considations of purchasing a suit from this specific location, I would highly reccomend you DO NOT. With this as an exception, I've had pretty decent experiences at Men's Wearhouse over the years, but this store in Santa Monica was one of the worst customer experiences I've had. In the end, I went to another location in South Bay and they were...
Read moreHello,
I am writing because I feel that George at the Beverly Hills location needs to be recognized for his incredible customer service.
I have been working with the Santa Monica location which has become atrocious since their management changed. To sum up my experience: I spent days calling without an answer, when I did get an answer he told me he was too busy to answer my question and that I would need to come in, when I came in there was a power outage and I could not try on my tuxedo, when the tuxedo didn't fit and I called to see if they would reopen when power turned back on I was told "how would I know?". Seriously?
Out of panic, with my wedding just days away, I went to the Beverly Hills location and George saved my day. Not only was he knowledgable and helped find a solution to my problem, he went above and beyond to make sure that I could walk out of the store with the correct tuxedo. He fixed the problem in 30 minutes and gave me peace of mind.
In a world where customer service is seriously lacking, George reminded me that there are still people who care and want to help. I was incredibly impressed and I will be returning to that location to work with George in the future.
Thank you so much George and team -- shame on the Santa Monica...
Read moreAbsolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had at a formalwear store. It took almost three hours to get fitted for tuxedos — not because the place was packed, but because of sheer laziness and utter incompetence of the employees.
I would have said the store was understaffed but a second employee was sitting behind a computer when we arrived. After waiting for over 20 minutes to even be acknowledged by the employee on the floor, I approached the individual behind the computer and asked if he could help us. Rudely he told us that the other employee would have to help us.
For the entire three hours he never once got up. Had he not been wearing a suit I wouldn’t have thought he worked there; for all I know, he could’ve been homeless and just loitering inside.
The other employee who was doing the fittings made the experience even worse by being rude, stand-off ish, unprofessional and uneducated on a process that is standard and common at Men’s Wearhouse.
No basic courtesy and certainly no urgency despite the growing wait. For a business that’s supposed to specialize in weddings and formalwear, the level of service here was beyond unacceptable. I would not recommend this location to anyone — save yourself the frustration and go literally...
