Gulf Place Condo — Local services in Santa Rosa Beach

We ultimately enjoyed our stay in Gulf Place Cabanas #308, but a potential renter should be aware of a few things: -There is a wide range of quality among the units. Our relatives had a much nicer unit than ours. This unit is VERY BASIC and has not been upgraded. Their unit had very nice upgrades. -They advertise the units to sleep 6. I cannot imagine where the luggage would go for 6 persons. Only one bedroom and closet. Small kids can easily stay in the bunks in the hallway/nook, but that's where we kept our clothes since it was only two of us. -5 bath towels, 3 washcloths, 2 hand towels, and 1 bath mat for a 6 person unit for a week. We had to wash every other day. Wouldn't have been so bad had the washer and dryer been inside the unit but it is shared with a floor. One of the 2 dryers was non-operational. This means you spend a lot of your vacation time checking for an available washer and dryer and then again checking for when they are finished. -The bathroom rug was FILTHY and looks like it has never been laundered. I'm sure it was pretty at one time. Pretty disgusting. -Microwave was nasty on its ceiling. -Dishes had been put away wet. -Written up by security for attaching bikes to rail; however, there were no available bike racks to which they referenced. Their note was rude. They said they would "trash" our bikes. -There was a bad smell (sulfur-like) around certain areas of the exterior of the place. Not sure if it was because of the algae growing at a fast rate in the pond or something else. -The codes change periodically. Our rental agency (Dune Allen Realty) only gave us one set and didn't notify us when they changed. -This unit's balcony has a very nice view! -The beach access is fantastic! Right across the street through a gated entrance. Be aware there are many steps so a beach buggy doesn't work well. -There are 3 pools. The one we tried was nice! -Happy that they are pet friendly, but there was pet hair on the balcony furniture cushions. -Our unit had MANY hooks which was very helpful for drying beach clothes and towels since you are not to hang anything on the balconies. -Unit seemed to be cleaned pretty well, but fitted sheet was too small for the mattress. The fridge was very clean! -Undecided if we would stay again. I would check reviews carefully against each unit...

We were in a condo unit for a four night stay. Though clean and spacious for two (marketed for six, but I wouldn't recommend that many unless you only sleep here), this particular unit could use an update and newer, more comfortable furnishings. The cookware was on its last legs. The bathtub/shower drained too slowly and left you standing in three inches of water by the end of your shower. Smallish closet in the bedroom, which had a king bed. A queen would have fit the room much better. Now for the positives - the views from this 4th floor, gulf-facing unit (#408-Caribbean) are spectacular. The pool was wonderful and conveniently located, straight out the elevator door (which was located directly across from this unit.). Visited the Jade Nail Salon on-site, and had a great experience. Small restaurant on the property, The Perfect Pig, gets good reviews. Well-located development on 30A, the main thoroughfare through this beach community. We would stay again, hopefully in a...

The condo we stayed in November was absolutely filthy.. the condo wreaked of smoke and animals which neither is allowed.. ceiling fans had 2 inches of dust.. overhead ceiling light in kitchen didn’t work .. the entry door had a inch gap around the door.. we had booked this for the month so of course I washed the sheets.. mattress pad had urine stains ..
