The food was not memorable. The Philly was not up to standard for this being their flagship product. Their queso for their chips...was it even queso at all? 👎Didn’t taste like it. They did give generous portions of all of their food though.
My main issue was that they forgot the queso with the chips which comes standard so I had to drive back up there to get it. All is good, I get the queso. Then while on my way back home, my wife calls to tell me that they forgot the sour cream and salsa that comes with the quesadilla so I turned around to head back and called them, as they were closed, and told them. Instead of owning that they forgot it, they pushed back and said they put it in there. Then proceeded to have an attitude with me about it while asking her coworker if she put it in the box and said “well she put it in there.” They acted inconvenienced about it and told me I could come back tomorrow to get it. Why would I drive back up the next day to pick up sour cream and salsa?!?! And why would you think I am trying to swindle a tiny bit of sour cream and salsa and creating an extra trip back up to the restaurant?! I told the worker I was already there to get it and they ended up bringing it to the door to me with NO apology for leaving it out and she handed it to me with an attitude as she reached her arm outside the door and quickly shut it in frustration.
NOT good customer service and for that reason alone, I would not eat there again. This is not how you treat a customer who spent $80+ at your restaurant, especially in a very nice area on 30A where there is plenty of competition. They don’t deserve...
Read moreThis place used to be fantastic. It has been disappointing as of late. I've been a local regular since the original owners. I would like to share some constructive criticism- Todays sandwich's Sam's Club hoagie roll is nothing like an Amorosa roll. If you have to replace of one of the key items to the quality of your product, you should probably make customers aware of that so they can make an informed choice. In the event that this was a momentary outage, at least substitute something similar (Publix has nice crusty but airy rolls, right up the road) rather than changing the consistency of the dish. Additionally, today's salad which was 2/3rds the usual portion (now a boat inside a to-go box), had chopped cucumber that has gone mushy and slimy. -See Photo- Cucumbers can often freeze when in a commercial cold well, especially at the bottom of the pan. It is also possible that the cucumbers were past their usefulness, I suspect a bit of both because some seemed frostbit and some spoiled. It's better to 86 an item then to create an unpleasant experience for your customers.
Please South of Philly, let's see a return to the former glory that made this a success. You cant sacrifice quality and retain your rep. You charge a premium, we should expect a premium,...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars, I would. One is being extremely generous. I’m not quite sure where to begin. I’ll start by saying I would not choose to eat at this place if it was the last restaurant standing. South of Philly is extremely over priced. With our final bill being as expensive as it was, we would have rather gone somewhere to have a nice sit-down dinner. We decided on South Of Philly as a To Go order and were very disappointed. All of the dressing that was supposed to be with our meals was forgotten. Who eats a salad without dressing? Not to mention none of the meals have fries included. I’m sorry, $13 for a Philly cheese steak and then another $5 for fries? What are they smoking? Now, we are snacking after our “dinner” because we didn’t get full off of the one we ordered. I can get better quality and quantity going to Applebee’s car side to go... which is where we will be...
