Martin Freeman is a fabulous store that I found when I realized I failed to pack slacks for my prior visit to Sarasota and now it is on my must do list when I come here.

Their location is very convenient and within a couple of blocks short walking distance from both the new Art Ovation Hotel and the Aloft Hotel (I stay here as I like their casual vibe).

I am retired and in my 70s and was looking for both some comfortable casual slacks or upscale "cool" jeans and also some very fashionable designer shirts that are unique and look great either as casual wear by themselves or with a sport coat. On the designer shirt side, here I found Brandolini and St Croix and several others. They look awesome- very young and unique. For slacks I ended up buying Dax jeans that also look great, and gave me the sophisticated yet casual look to work well with the designer shirts.

Harold Freeman is fabulous and definitely worth spending time with as he has a keen eye and was so patient with me as it took me some time to sort through all the choices I made (I hope they will fit in my travel suitcase this trip).

This shop is saved at the top of my list of places I'm definitely coming back to for designer items. I visited for the first time,shortly before close,on a Sunday. The quality and selection is excellent. The owner was assisting someone else and had excellent service . I waited and was greeted warmly and sincerely as soon as she was available. I had just come from the beach and was a hot mess having a bit of a day, but she was genuinely kind and treated me equally as well as the customer making a sale, despite my still being in beach slides, cutoff shorts and crazy hair. I am a poc. I will absolutely give this place 5/5 for cuteness of the store itself, quality and variety, knowledge of the owner about designer brands, caring for them, and their worth, but most of all the beauty of the heart of the owner helps because you can know She treats every person that walks in that door Well and with Equal Respect and Service. I visited there while on vacation and although they have a decent selection I do believe their prices are a bit to high for many designer items. Certain designers don’t command the price points that they have them listed as. I am an avid designer shopper and I understand the resale market in-depth. I found an item there I liked and had to think about whether I wanted to purchase it. The sales lady was nice enough to offer a discount but even with the discount the price was over inflated. The retail price of the garment was 248 about 5-6 years ago and was selling at the shop for 159. She offered a discount which was nice after I asked which brought it down to about 130, but I’m glad I hesitated because I was able to find the skirt at two different second hand retailers for 56.00 and 20.00 respectively.
