I asked for lyra classes for Christmas, and after receiving them I had to wait awhile to start class due to winter circus activity, and schedule snafus. My partner kept asking if I wanted to try something or somewhere else in the meantime, but I was determined to attend the Conservatory and I insisted on waiting. I had my first class yesterday and it met or exceeded my expectations in every way.
The coach, Courtney, was down to earth, expert, and direct, and I was able to complete even more than I thought I'd be able to with her help, which was very inspiring. Class challenged me intensely without ever feeling disheartening or defeatist, and in my experience it seemed to follow a structured flow of warmups, poses, conditioning, spins, and cool down. I can't overstate how awesome it was. The lyra feels poetic even when you're just perched on it, and learning to manipulate it a bit was a taste of real freedom.

We reached out to inform them immediately that he would not be able to attend and was told that this was a new situation and they had to check with management on what to do. When they responded to us, they informed us that we would get no refund even though we were doing the right thing by not sending our son. I understand policies but this was an isolated incident and they had the opportunity to do the right thing. We are moving out of state so rescheduling does not work for us but it is the only offer they made.
