I had thought a private place would be more expensive than a chain-wrong! Dr Stu listens, treats you with respect, shares ideas, doesn’t try to up sell you. I expressed what I was hoping for- in glasses and possibly contacts- after years of a chain telling me I’m wrong; Dr Stu concurred with what I suspected-I’m wearing wrong size frame and style of lens ( that chain store bullied me into) and CAN wear contacts after the other place said no. Peter, who takes care of frames and fit, etc knows his stuff! He doesn’t pander to you, but shares his knowledge in (again) a respectful way: ie, I selected red frames to try, wanting color, he liked the pop but asked if I’d be ok wearing them with any outfit (answer: no). He found some in a subdued tone with a bit of edging that are perfect. Judy is very polite, and so pleasant. This review is during covid virus outbreak. She respectfully asked me if I was sick, been in contact with sick people, etc. and took my temp ( with one of those external gun thermometers-cool!) all in such a nice way. This was the worst optometrist experience I’ve ever had. Waited over an hour for my scheduled appointment, and they helped people who walked in 30-45 minutes after me first. When I finally was brought in for my examination, I waited about 20 minutes for the doctor in a shut room by myself. About a 2.5 hour visit total. A month has gone by and I just got my glasses, and the prescription is totally wrong and they didn’t clean out my frames (they’re clear so I can tell), after saying that they did. The best team around! My mom and I have been coming here for years, and it’s always been a great experience. Dr. Pedersen is a wonderful doctor, he makes everything easy to understand. Every member of the staff is so helpful from choosing new frames to dealing with insurance and costs. Tracy has never failed to help me find the perfect frames! I highly recommend getting the images of your eyes done, it was very informative to have the doctor explain the parts of the eye and how they work, not to mention it was just plain cool.
