So today we went to this restaurant for lunch we were both very hungry cuz we had to spend the morning taking care of business with my older brother and a few other things so we were looking forward to a nice meal. My wife ordered a bacon cheeseburger the only extra thing she asked for was mayonnaise, and she had fries with that. I had a mushroom and Swiss and I asked for a couple slices of bacon to be put on it and I had hash browns with cheddar cheese. One of the occurrences then was that the people that came in after us got served first. This did not make my wife nor I happy but we left it go. I believe the explanation the waitress gave for that was that because it was later in the day the hash browns and cheese and the mayo through them for a loop and caused it to be later. When we got our plates both plates had a pile of sliced pickles on the plate. Which came with a fair amount of pickle juice my wife was appalled because she hates pickles the bun was soaked with pickle juice the fries are soaked with pickle juice so everything tasted like pickles. So we informed the waitress and my wife said she wouldn't eat her because of it. I had to eat some of it because I was starving but then I stopped because it was intolerable the taste of pickles on everything. So both the waitress and the cook put it on us that we were supposed to tell them we didn't want pickles when we didn't know they put them on there. I don't know what to say beyond this besides I'm not a mind reader didn't know you put pickles on them and usually when you ask what you want on your burger you list off the things that would be put on the burger this was not done. And added note was that the cook said they've been putting pickles on things since whenever which is not true I've been going to that restaurant at least maybe three times a year had burgers omelets a variety of things and I never had a pile of pickles and pickle juice on my plate I can guarantee so we left without paying for the food even though they did make my wife another Burger she was not able to eat it with the atmosphere that had been created by their attitude towards us.it's like no one wants to be responsible for their actions so they put it on the customer to know what they're going to do. Just thought I'd put...
Read moreThis is an out of the way little breakfast/lunch restaurant that has been in business for over 40 years - albeit new ownership in the last 5 years.
Nothing fancy here. Just good food cooked fresh. Only open for lunch and dinner. Frequented by locals and early risers (aka farm folk) that are up at 4am.
This is an old school place with a counter and tables, coffee cups that don’t match and a super friendly staff that takes great care of you. This is one of those restaurants that could be on Diners Drive Ins and Dives. Except that their menu has nothing special except great food.
Excellent omelets, pancakes, biscuits & Gravy and their special eggs Benedict with a ham steak as big as your plate (I almost always get this). Have the homemade toast!
I have been frequenting the RiversEdge (we call it the truck stop) for over 40 years - and although I no longer live in the area - it is a “must stop” whenever I am anywhere near Saukville WI
Worth a visit. But bring cash. They don’t take...
Read moreFirst walked in and literally everyone stopped eating and stared. This is one of the smallest places. Looks like they tried to do a Waffle-house kind of thing but failed. Had to sit almost in the kitchen because that was the only available and clean table there. Ordered steak and scrambled egg whites with potatoes, which was supposed to be all in one meal. But I was charged extra for the potatoes. When I got the food, it was so bland. Like blander than hospital food. I am sure they didn’t even use salt on my steak when they cooked it. I took two bites and left it on the table. When the bill came they only take cash!! And there is only one sign inside right by the door that you would not see unless you are walking out to leave. The most horrible place to eat. The lack of seasoning anywhere in that place makes me wonder if they’re...
