I was in the area for work. Was to be there for two weeks and was 119 miles from home. On a Tues. afternoon I made a reservation for Wednesday. Due to my work on I-43, we do it at night because the interstate needs to be closed from 8pm and reopened at 5am. I made the reservation for my stay directly to the motel speaking with the 2nd shift. I explained that I need to check in at approximately 5:30-6am and sleep in the daytime. I was assured that a room was available and reserved. After driving 2 and a half hours and working for 12 hours, I was ready to check in. I arrived at the motel at a little past 5am and went in. I waited at the desk for about 10 minutes before noticing a sign that said if no clerk was available to pick up the lobby phone and dial 0. I waited an additional 10 minutes before doing so thinking that someone had surely saw or heard my arrival. After dialing 0, a very loud alarm type sound started going off and out of courtesy I only let the sound go off 3 times before hanging up. I didn't want to wake the rooms that are closest to the lobby. After waiting an additional 10 minutes an individual approached from the back of the lobby. It was now 30 minutes after my arrival. It was obvious that this individual had just awoke. I wasn't certain whether it was a worker or guest because the person would not even look at me as he approached. It was just as obvious that he was not happy about being awaken because he had completely ignored my greeting. He proceeded to go behind the desk and asked me what I wanted. Not if he could help me, but what I wanted. I stated to him that I had a reservation made the day before. I told him I had called the motel the previous afternoon and made the reservation. Without even looking at anything he told me there were no reservations made for this time frame. I told him that I had called the day before and was assured that I had a room and a check out time the next morning. The man was extremely rude. I asked him if he would like my name so that he could at least attempt to look me up. He continued with his rudeness and made a half-hearted attempt of looking for my name. At the same time he was telling me that there were no available rooms and even if there were, the check in time was 2pm, not the 5:30am time that I was there. He proceeded to tell me that he would not accept cash for a room and only accepted credit or debit cards. I had my cash in my hand on the desk. I stated I had drove from over a hundred miles away and worked all night, that I was extremely tired. He repeated that there were no openings for a room. I found that extremely odd as there were only a few cars in the parking lot and this motel obviously had more rooms than vehicles. He continued to tell me that there was nothing there for me. Due to the fact that I had to be at work at 5pm that evening, I asked if he couldn't find something for me in the area. He stated that there were nothing. My only choice at this point was to leave and start my drive back home. That's what I did arriving back at my house at 8am and have made the drive daily. I was so disgusted with this man, an immigrant, that I truly wanted to ask him if I could help him with his disregard for customers. I could certainly have taught him a lesson on how to treat overly tired Americans. Apparently in his native country this is how people are treated. I wouldn't recommend this place to any person traveling through Saukville. I certainly discouraged my 17 co-workers to find different arrangements in the area besides this motel. The only satisfaction of my experience is the fact that there were 18 men in the area for two weeks and this motel lost out on that business because the man was angry at me for...
Read moreThis hotel doesn’t even deserve one star. I would never ever recommend staying at this motel 6 location unless you like lousy rooms and your belongings & medication stolen. We were traveling from Canada and unfortunately the motel 6 was literally the only hotel in the area with an accessible room available, and so we had no other option other than to spend $111 a night on this nightmare of a hotel. The “accessible” room was far from being ADA compliant. There was so much random furniture in the room that I was unable to move my wheelchair around. The bed was way too high to transfer out of my chair. The bed itself was extremely uncomfortable and the bedding was not clean nor was the flooring. The towels were either stained or not clean. Also it was supposedly a non smoking room but the smell of cigarettes & mold was extremely overpowering. The hotel as a whole is in shambles because of ongoing renovations. We spent 2 nights in the motel and none of the physical stuff compares to the horror I experienced the second day. While we were out with friends, staff came in to “clean” (meaning take out our trash and remove old towels but didn’t replace them) our room and when we returned I quickly realized someone had stolen medications out of my daily pill case that I had sitting on a table. Upon further investigating they had also opened my medical suitcase filled with my feeding tube supplies, other medical stuff and medication & had stolen a lot of random pills from my week of pill cases that I had just filled the night prior. I have severe health conditions and the critical medications they stole literally keeps me alive and out of the hospital. On top of the medications, they also stole chips, granola bars, jam, instant potatoes and possibly other stuff we have yet to notice. We were told by the owners of the hotel that they weren’t liable for things stolen out of our room despite the fact that the only people who would have had the ability to go into my room was staff. We filed a police report, but the cleaner has denied taking anything so there is not much that can be done. I don’t understand how they think it is okay to steal from someone disabled (or anyone for that matter) Truthfully sleeping in our car would have been a better option than this motel 6. We will never be back & I hope you think twice before...
Read moreThe hotel was fine, the location was easy enough to find. However, the turn wasn't the easiest to see after dark and the sign at the entrance was small, almost hidden, and not illuminated.
The front desk staff was very friendly. The lobby could use a bit of a face-lift, but nothing too terrible.
There were 5 real problems I had (least to most severe). There was a dog barking and whining for a VERY long time. I understand the hotel is pet friendly but that shouldn't mean that they can just leave the animal unattended. Not the hotel's fault, but should be addressed.
The sink smelled like someone vomited in the sink and just rinsed it a bit. Definitely needs to be more thoroughly cleaned.
The shower doesn't drain at a reasonable pace, needs tending to.
The AC doesn't stay on. You set it, it gets to the temp and shuts off and stays off. I fought with it for far too long. It was really annoying and the room was far too hot and it really amplified the discomfort of the beds.
The beds left a lot to be desired. I'm not exaggerating when I say that was the worst mattress I have ever experienced. I would have sincere problems with that mattress being provided to prisons. I wouldn't let my dog sleep on that mattress. I wouldn't let my worst enemy suffer through that mattress. It's like someone said "Hey let's make the worst mattress we can imagine" and they somehow outdid themselves. Then they went one step farther and tossed some of the most atrocious pillows they could find on the bed. I would've chosen a balled up sweatshirt over the pillow if I'd had the option. Overall, I would've gotten a more comfortable night's sleep in coach on a red-eye flight, with or without the feeling of being cooked alive in a room with barely functional AC.
Other than that, the room was clean (which is what is most important to me, even if the drains need tending to). The TV worked. So it was...
