The Abbey — Local services in Scarborough

I initially came to this store with my partner to find some rosaries, as we're both exploring our faith. There was a sign on the door that said the owners would be back by a certain point--- which we were now past. Something told me we should stick around. I gave them a call and found out they were on their way back from Portland after dropping off some donations for a church. I was even happier to wait! When the doors were unlocked for us I wasn't disappointed; this is a small shop and some of the aisles are quite narrow, but that's because the spot was bursting with useful and beautiful goods. We came out with a couple of rosaries each, some prayer cards, a comfort cross, and some stationary. As we've been exploring our faith and learning more, we find ourselves coming back again to dive deeper into the huge array of things they have to help become a more prayerful person. We even brought our teenage daughter --- who is not Christian but loves to explore spirituality--- and she was delighted. She also came out with a few items, which was wonderful to see. I had a great experience shopping at The Abbey recently! Yvonne helped me and my now wife select a Unity candle for our wedding. From the display, to the selection process to the purchase, everything went extremely smooth. The Unity candle is beautiful! White with silver details. Yvonne did an excellent job in taking care of us and making us feel like valued customers. The candle is exquisite and beautiful, and now sits in our living room. I live very far away from the Abbey but make a day trip of going there quite often— more than I should. The environment of this store is very relaxing and makes for wonderful shopping.
